Liberation Day
weather
For the most part, it’s a day of hazy sunshine with the same gentle to moderate ENE’ly breeze as on Friday and the same top temps of between 17-19°C. There will be a couple of slight differences though, namely some mist patches in the morning and then a high chance of showers in the evening, possibly turning heavy and thundery later in the night.
Surf and Tide
The last good day to take advantage of, when the waves will be clean and good for kids to learn to surf on. At a mere 1 foot, I doubt the waves will offer much entertainment to adults, although as ever, the almost flat conditions will be lovely for swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Although the peak of the spring tides was on Friday, they will still be whopping, so it will be important to time your visit to any particular beach carefully, in order to find the conditions that you are wanting. The highs will be about 9.7n at 8:40am and at 9pm. The low will be about 0.7m at 3:10pm.
Sunday
weather
Those heavy showers which are expected in the area on Satuday night, will continue to threaten the islands on Sunday morning. As is usually the case however, the dry intervals are likely to last much longer and there could even be some pleasant sunny spells breaking through. However, the afternoon is going to be pretty horrible really, with the NE’ly wind strengthening to force 6 or 7 and feeeling really quite cold. Then going into the evening and night, it looks as though we could be in for some more prolonged wetness.
Surf and Tide
The wind a little too cross-shore atthe west-coast beaches in the morning, there probably won't be any surf to salvage at that time. Then, in the afternoon and evening, the strength of the wind will mean that it is definitely best left to the kite-surfers and windsurfers. As for the tides, the peaks will be about half an hour later than they were on Saturday, and the title range will be about a metre smaller.
Monday to Wednesday
Sunday night’s rain should clear off by Monday lunchtime at the latest and then we’re going to stay dry for the rest of the working week. These first three days will have a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, but most noticeably, they are going to feel bitterly cold compared to the previous week, with the max temps only just reaching double figures and the strong ENE’ly wind making it feel as though it was right down in the low single figures.
The Rest of Next Week
Certainly not as warm as the previous week, but the temperature will probably improve a little bit, just sneaking into the low teens each day. However, with the NE’ly wind staying fresh to strong, this improvement will be barely noticeable. Furthermore, there will be an increasing chance of showery rain, as a low pressure system develops over Spain and spirals it’s way through France and into Germany.
The next forecast update should be with you on Sunday evening.
