Monday
Weather
This will just be a continuation of the weekend, where we saw bags of sunshine and only the briefest of cloudy spells. Be really careful of your skin between the hours of 10am and 4pm, during which the UV index is generally peaking at 7, meaning that it doesn’t take at all long to get sunburnt, especially if you are on or in the water. With the same gentle NW’ly airflow, temperatures will continue to peak at 14-15°C in most parts of the island and at about 16°C in Town.
Surf and Tide
A new pulse of swell should come through. The breeze will be onshore but light enough for the waves to still be clean. Some of the reefs might pick up to about 3 feet by evening time, but we are probably just looking at 2 feet at Vazon beach. The tidal range is starting to get bigger now, with a 2.9m low at 11am and a 7.4m at 5pm
Tuesday
Weather
Another dry and sunny one, with all aspects of the forecast almost identical to Monday, except that the temperature should creep up by at least a degree in all areas.
Surf and Tide
Much like the weather, everything in the sea will be pretty similar to how it was on Monday. We will just have a further increase in the tidal range, with a low of about 2.4m at 11:40am and a high of about 7.8m at 5:40pm.
Wednesday
Weather
The hottest day of the week so far, and it will probably prove to be hotter than the following days too. The max should be 20°C and this time, with the breeze switching to an E’ly, the west side of the island will be warmer than the east, With particularly bright sunshine expected on this day, the UV index could go as high as 8, so skin protection will be extra important, not just if you are sunbathing but also if you are working outdoors.
Surf and Tide
Oh yes now we are talking. A stronger 3 foot swell with a gentle offshore breeze. There should be some really fun waves, especially during the afternoon and evening, either side of the 8.2m high at 6:20pm.
Thursday and Friday
Some very warm air is going to come up from the south on Thursday. There is a chance that it will be just as toasty as Wednesday, but there will be thickening cloud and a gradually strengthening wind, which will probably result in a late morning max temperature of just 18 or 19°. We might even see some rain in the late afternoon or early evening, but that detail is very uncertain at the moment. The most likely outcome will just be thick grey cloud and perhaps some patchy sea fog. Friday is looking quite certainly a few degrees cooler, with a force 4-5 WSW’ly wind and a much greater chance of showers. Nowhere will feel particularly special, compared to the gorgeous first half of the week, but Town will certainly be the warmest and most comfortable part of the island.
The Weekend
The downward trend in temperatures will continue, as we hang on to the brisk W’ly or NW’ly wind. It looks likely to be dry and mostly sunny though so, once again, if you go to a sheltered area like Town, then it should feel pretty nice and comfortable there...
The next forecast update should be with you on Tuesday evening.
