Friday
Weather
A much more straightforwardly average day. Winds - moderate to fresh WSW’ly, the temperature rising from 14°C to about 16 or 17°C by mid afternoon. The rain that was expected early morning has turned out to be very light and patchy. Some places might even stay totally dry. However, it wont be until late morning that we see any brightness, and probably early afternoon before we get a proper blast of sunshine.
Surf and Tide
Some much bigger waves should arrive towards the end of the day. Rather choppy but at maybe as big as 8-10 feet, so they will definitely offer some really fun conditions for experts, but the novices should probably just stay on the shore with their cameras. The tides will be low at 1:30pm (1.8m) and high at 7:30pm (8.7m).
Saturday
Weather
A mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, although with the emphasis definitely more towards the sunshine. There will be a scattering of heavy showers in the area through the morning, and some of them might well catch the islands. That risk should be gone in the afternoon though, but the wind will still be rather perky, coming from the W and blowing at fresh force 5. Town will be the warmest place by a degree or two, probably peaking at 16-17°C.
Surf and Tide
More unseasonably large waves, 8-10 feet in the morning, decreasing 6-8 feet later. With the unrelenting onshore wind, there won't be anything particularly clean on offer, but there will still be some fun waves to be had by the more experienced surfers, and there should be some particularly good windsurfing going on. The tides will be about 8.6m high at 7:40am and then about 8.7m at 8pm.
Sunday
Weather
Sunny, with winds moderating to force 4 during the day and then light force 3 in the evening. With that breeze coming from the W again, Town will continue to be the warmest spot, probably peaking at 17°C.
Surf and Tide
The west coast waves will still be choppy but they will be much smaller than Saturday, this time about 4-5 feet. With the wind possibly veering a notch towards a NW’ly in the afternoon, there could be some small, fun and reasonable clean waves for bodyboarding on, down at Petit Bot. The tidal movements will be the same size as on Saturday but peaking a bit later, with highs at 8:30am and 840pm.
Next Week
Weather
With high-pressure almost overhead during the first half of the week, whilst low-pressure stays out in the Atlantic, we should enjoy warm sunny weather with light N’ly or variable breezes. Without pulling any air directly from France, we will struggle to exceed 20°C on any day, but we will certainly get close and the sunshine will be strong at times, with the UV index tending to reach 7 or 8 around noon every day. With winds veering E’ly in the second half of the week, this is when the temperature should climb even further, to possibly match the temperatures that we enjoyed earlier this week. As for the weather, well that’s still looking dry and sunny at least until weekend, possibly beyond.
Surf and Tide
A really great looking week of surf, with a strong 3-5 foot swell in the first half of the week and the conditions fairly clean and glassy, then a cleaner but smaller 1-3 foot swell to finish the week. As for the tides, well they will steadily be getting smaller, so the options will increase to go surfing at almost any time of day.
The next forecast update should be on Sunday evening.
