Guernsey Weather Fox

7-day Forecast. Starting Monday 25/05/2020

Monday

Weather

With a full day of sunshine and just a gentle N’ly breeze, we should be 2-3°C warmer than on Sunday, most places peaking at about 18°C in the late afternoon. Head to the south-coast beaches though and you might just find somewhere even warmer.

Surf and Tide

The side-shore wind will be light enough that the west-coast waves are still pretty clean. And at 3-4 feet, they are going to be pretty irresistible in the sunshine. The tides will be about 8.5m high at 9am and then 1.9m low at 3:10pm.

Tuesday

Weather

Another gorgeously sunny one, with the same gentle N’ly breeze. The max temp should be just the same as on Monday, and once again the south coast beaches will be the toastiest.

Surf and Tide

A slightly stronger swell should bless us with 4-5 foot waves through the day, and with the same wind as on Monday they should be just as clean. There could be even be some novelty gems down on the south coast too. The tides will be about 8.3m high at 9:30am and then about 2.1m low at 3:50pm.

Wednesday

Weather

I hope you aren't getting bored of this, but it's just going to be sunny again. The only difference is that the breeze will swivel to a NE’ly direction and the temperature should creep up to 20 or maybe even 21°C.

Surf and Tide

Another stonker of a day for surfers, especially in the morning because this is when the breeze will be lightest and the waves will be biggest (still 4-5 feet). As for the tides, just a little smaller and later again, this time with a 8m high at 10:10am and a 2.4m low at 4:30pm.

The rest of the Week

Weather

One thing that's for sure, is that it's going to remain dry and sunny at least until Saturday. What is less certain whether it will be any warmer or cooler than the first half of the week One thing that's for sure, is that it's gonna remain dry and sunny at least until Saturday. What is less certain it is whether it will be any warmer or cooler than the first half of the week. It's going to be a bit of a balancing act, with warmer air coming up from France on a SE’ly wind, but that wind being a bit perky at times and so also bringing the cooler influence of the sea around us. My gut feeling is that we will level out with a top temperature of 19 to 20°C every day as far as Saturday. As for the next dose of rain, we are really in uncertain territory by Sunday, but the current suggestions from some forecast models are that it might be well into the month of June.

Surf and Tide

Really clean and still very surfable, but this is definitely the small end of the week, with nothing more than 1-2 feet. The kids and learners will be loving it. The tides medium to small in size and generally high around lunchtime...

The next forecast update should be on Tuesday evening.
