Monday
The Weather
After a mostly clear and rather cool night, we should enjoy a clear and rather warm day. The sunshine being pretty constant, the UV index peaking at 8 and the temperature peaking at about 16-17°C. Much like Sunday, the wind will only be light, making it feel really pleasant to either just lounge around or for something like a bike ride. The direction of that gentle breeze will be NNE’ly, making the south coast the warmest area by a whisker.
Surf and the Water
A bit of a lay day for most surfers, although there could be some dribbly one-footers for kids to mess around on at Vazon. The real stand-out loveliness will be the early afternoon swimming conditions, down at south-coast beaches, particularly Petit Port and Jaonnet Bay.
Tuesday and Wednesday
The Weather
Getting slightly warmer and even calmer, with the wind barely noticeable at all. The temperature should peak at 17- 18°C on sunny Tuesday, but it might be just a degree a lower on Wednesday., because that will be an increasingly cloudy day,. With a weather-front approaching very slowly from the west, we can expect drizzly rain during the evening and night, maybe with some mist and fog.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean knee to waist high waves along the west coast, with the best waves generally being during the mornings and at lunchtime. As for the swimming and paddle-boarding conditions. All coasts will be gorgeously glassy, with the morning high tides probably offering the most appealing conditions, although the warmest water will be found in late afternoon and early evening, whilst the tide is low.
Thursday and Friday
The Weather
Staying slightly warmer than average, but with a slow-moving low pressure system now sitting over the UK and France, bands of heavy thundery showers will swirl around and occasionally move over the islands. The timing is very uncertain but the showers could be rather prolonged, so we will probably see quite a large accumulation of rainwater by the end of Friday. We could be talking about 20-30mm over the two days combined.. As for the wind, it currently looks as though it will be E’ly on both days, but quite strong on Thursday whilst the low-pressure system is developing, them quite light on Friday whilst it decays and eventually moves away.
Surf and the Water
The waves will still be about waist-high and clean on both days. And if the offshore wind gets a little too strong at times for the surfers, then that's going to work in the favour of the windsurfers and the kite surfers. The tidal range will be relatively small on both days, with the times of high water just before lunchtime.
The Weekend
The Weather
A moderate S’ly flow, might bring the odd shower in the late afternoons or evening, but it should be mostly dry and really rather warm, with temperatures probably peaking around 20°C.
Surf and the Water
Good clean surf on both days, probably in the range of 2-3 feet. However, it could be a bit more or less, depending on the development of a low pressure system out to the west. The best swimming conditions will probably be up at Pembroke and L’Ancresse, during the small lunchtime high tides.
The next forecast update should be with you on Wednesday morning.
