Saturday
The Weather
Well the extreme wetness of Thursday and Friday is behind us now. However, the low pressure system that brought it all, is only dying slowly. As a result, there will be some showers in the morning and early afternoon. However, there aren't likely to last long or be very heavy, and the late afternoon and evening is looking really nice and sunny. The morning will have a moderate SSE’ly breeze so, during the dry bits, it won’t will feel too toasty but it should be comfortable enough for such things as jogging and cycling. The afternoon wind will only be light force 2-3, allowing things to really heat up a bit, with the temperature peaking at about 18°C.
Surf and the Water
The west coast waves should be 1-2 feet and clean all day. As for swimming and paddle boarding, the west coast shouldn't be too bad for that either, although the north coast will probably be better. The tide will be just a tiny one, just under 7m high at 12:50pm.
Sunday
The Weather
This time the shower risk will be greatest in the afternoon and evening, though it's only a low risk so it might just stay dry. Perhaps a little cloudy at times but mostly sunny, with just a light S’ly breeze, so the max temp will probably be 18°C again, but there is a chance it could go higher.
Surf and the Water
Another tiny tidal range, with the hint of a high around lunchtime. More clean 1-2 feet waves if we are lucky. That's far from certain though, so what’s much more dependable is a lovely session for swimming or paddle-boarding.
Monday and Tuesday
The Weather
Much like the weekend, both days will be mostly dry and sunny, with warm and gentle S’ly breezes. However, there will always be the slight risk that a wandering shower will catch the islands. At this stage, it's not worth trying to be any more definite about timing.
Surf and the Water
Pretty much flat in the surf. As for swimming and paddle boarding; the best conditions for that are likely to be at L’Ancresse around the small high tides, in the early afternoons.
The Rest of Next Week
The Weather
With a deeper low pressure system expected to form in the more traditional area (mid-Atlantic) and high pressure returning to Europe, its likely to be a mostly sunny end to the week, with temperatures continuing to peak in the very high teens, thanks to very light winds. The majority of each day is likely to be dry, but there is always the chance that thunderstorms will develop over France in the early afternoons and then wander in our direction during the late afternoons or evenings.
Surf and the Water
It's a reasonably promising weather chart, with a high likelihood of a decent 3-5 foot swell coming from that mid-Atlantic low. However, it might not be until the weekend that the swell actually arrives. Fingers crossed we still have favourable winds at that stage.
The next forecast update should be with you on Sunday.
