Monday
The Weather
A dry day but with quite a lot of high cloud, making the sunshine more muted than on Sunday. The max temperature should be much the same though (21°C in Town), meaning that this could be the hottest day of the working week. Although there is a chance that we will recover to similar heights by Friday. The airflow will be very gentle and coming from the west or northwest, meaning that all areas should feel quit warm, but Town will certainly be the warmest.
Surf and the Water
No surf, but lovely smooth conditions for paddling or swimming, especially in southern and eastern bays. The tidal range will be very small, with a high of just 6.9m at lunchtime, perfect for places like Bordeaux and Les Ammareurs.
Tuesday
The Weather
With a warm front moving over the island on Monday night, there might well be a bit of mist and drizzle around Dawn. Likewise, when another front passes over around dusk. Through the in between hours, the air will feel quite muggy although the moderate NW'ly wind will balance it out with a more refreshing feel. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with the temperature hovering at about 17-18°C. However, it wouldn't take much of a brief sunny interval, to warm things up to 19°C.
Surf and the Water
Pretty choppy water on the north and west coasts. Still nice and smooth along some stretches of the south and east though. High water just 6.8m at 1:50pm.
Wednesday to Friday
The Weather
Dry throughout, with a day by day reduction in cloud, leading to a gradual rise in max temperatures, from about 18°C on Wednesday to at least 20°C on Friday. The wind will also be on the decrease, falling from moderate force 4 at the start of Wednesday, to just light force 2 by the end of Friday.
Surf and the Water
Perhaps some choppy, sloppy two foot surf on Wednesday (if we are lucky), before things quickly fade back to flat. With the wind direction staying NW’ly, The best swimming and paddle boarding conditions will remain along the south and east coast.
The Weekend
The Weather
At the far end of the forecast period, nothing is set in stone. However, it looks quite likely that temperatures could be slipping into the very warm or even hot category, with an E’ly breeze introducing pre-heated continental air. As for the weather details, we are probably just looking at blue sky and sunshine.
Surf and the Water
Very little promise of surf in the forecast, with only shallow lows mid-Atlantic, and no sign of tropical storm development off the American east coast. However, if we are treated to a 1-2 foot pulse, then it is certainly going to be clean and well formed. The tides will be high around dawn and towards dinnertime, increasing in size until they exceed 8m on Sunday evening.
The next forecast update will be with you on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
