Monday
The Weather
Although we are pretty much looking at wall-to-wall sunshine, this will be one of the coolest days of the working week. The reason being a brisk NNE’ly wind, that won't really fall light until evening time. The max temperature will be about 18-19°C in most parts. If anywhere is going to sneak up to 20°C then it's going to be down on the south coast, in the shelter of the cliffs.
Surf and the Water
That south coast shelter, mean that the best swimming and paddling conditions will be found there too. As for the west-coast surf scene, there might be a foot or so of rideable swell but the cross-shore wind will make a bit of a mess of it. High water will be 8.2m at 7am and 8.6m at 7:30pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The Weather
Another pristine blue-sky day on Tuesday but the the NE’ly wind only be light force 2-3, so we should see max temps of 21°C in most parts of the island. With the breeze staying just as light or maybe even lighter (N’ly on Wednesday and NW’ly on Thursday), max temps could go as high as 22°C or 23°C on those days. The sunshine probably turning more hazy but still dominating daylight hours.
Surf and the Water
Once again the best swimming conditions will be down south, although the other coasts will certainly be smoother than on Monday. As such, if we are blessed with any surfable ripples on the west coast then they will also be a good deal cleaner. High water will generally be around the 9m mark in the early mornings and late evenings.
Friday
The Weather
A very uncertain day, with a weather front threatening to give us thick cloud and showers, but equally likely to just move over the UK and barely affect us at all. Either way, the WNW’ly breeze will probably perk up to force 3-4, meaning that Town will be the only place that has any hope of feeling as warm as the previous days.
Surf and the Water
A chance of some larger surf, depending on the track and depth of the Atlantic low pressure system. At this stage it's very uncertain, which is why it is also uncertain whether we will see any rain.
The Weekend
The Weather
It's looking like a mix of sunshine and showers for both days. Some of those showers could turn out to be longer spells of rain, especially on Saturday. The wind generally a moderate W’ly, bringing max temperatures back down to the high teens or 20°C at best.
Surf and the Water
Once again, the waves might well be larger than during the week, but I think 2-3 feet is the most that we can realistically expect. The tide heights not quite so big anymore, dropping to 8.8m and then 8.5m respectively in the late mornings.
The next forecast update will be with you on either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
