Wednesday
Weather
The shower risk should gradually diminish through the morning, and the cloud might linger until lunchtime, possibly having thickened and lowered enough to give some mist or fog. Not to worry though, because the afternoon is looking super-sunny again, with a force 3-4 NNE’ly wind giving us a pleasantly warm max of 22°C. Head to the south coast for the absolute best of it.
Surf and the water
Conditions will be lovely for swimming and paddle-boarding on the south coast. The west coast surf certainly won’t be anything special, thanks to the cross-wind, but the waves should still be 1 foot and just about rideable. The tides will be about 8.6m high at 6:30am, 1.7m low at 12:50pm and about 9.1m high at 6:50pm.
Thursday
The Weather
Perhaps a little cloud to shake off around breakfast time, but quickly becoming super sunny. The max temp slightly lower at 21°C, but still on the warm side of average. You will probably want to seek some shelter from the wind though, because that will be a fresh force 5 ENE’ly (great for drying the laundry but not so great for sunbathing and barbecues).
Surf and The Water
An almost flat day of surf is expected, but it will be pretty good for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Swimmers who are seeking shelter should simply head west around high tide, when the water is up close to the sea-walls. The tides will be about 9.2m high at 7:20am, 1.1m low at 1:40pm and about 9.7m high at 7:30pm (that one is going to be particularly splashy on the east coast).
Friday
The Weather
The fresh force 5 NE’ly wind will persist for another day. As for the weather; it’s looking like a sunny morning and a cloudy afternoon. The evening sky might look as though it’s threatening us with showers, but they will probably remain over Brittany until much later in the weekend. Max temp 22°C, min temp 16°C.
Surf and The Water
Another day of flat surf, but good windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions. The tides will be even bigger and there could well be some overtopping on the east coast, especially in the evening... 9.7m high at 8am, 0.7m low at 2:20pm and about 10.1m high at 8:20pm.
The Weekend
The Weather
The fresh ENE’ly wind will nag on through Saturday, but then it will ease off to a gentle force 3 on Sunday. Both days will be a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, and we will probably see a few showers, especially in the evening, when there might also be the odd rumble of thunder. The temperatures will continue to peak at about 22°C in the afternoons, then fall to a minimum of 16°C overnight.
Surf and The Water
Powerful swell (probably 3-4) will turn up from Hurricane Paulette. It will have travelled a very long way so the intervals between the waves and the lulls between the sets will be very long. I’m not sure what the quality of these waves will be like, but there will probably be plenty of swell wrapping onto the north and south coasts as well as the west.
Next Week
The Weather
It will probably be dry through Monday and most of Tuesday, but the wind will come from a SW’ly direction, which will return our temperatures to the more normal heights of 18-20°C. Then Tuesday night and every day after, will probably receive a good dose of rain (in the order of 2-5mm per day). Furthermore, some days (most likely Wednesday) could have some very strong winds, possibly gale force
Surf and The Water
Plenty of surf all week. The tides gradually becoming small again, starting the week with highs of over 9m in the mid-morning and finishing with highs of under 7m in the early afternoon.
The next forecast update will be with you on Thursday or Friday.
