Saturday
The Weather
Dry like much of Friday, but the NNW’ly wind will pack a smaller punch and the sunshine will pack a bigger one. Therefore, with a max of only 14°C, you might want to keep your jumper on, but it will still be lovely for outdoor activity, especially down on the south coast.
Surf and The Water
The south coast shelter will not only reduce the chill factor, but it will also the smoothest conditions for swimming or near-shore kayaking. As for the surf, there might be something almost rideable at Petit Bot and Petit Port, but you will probably be better off heading to the west coast and tucking into some messy 3-4 footers. High water will be just 6.88m at 3:20pm.
Sunday
The Weather
Another day of cool sunshine, with a fresh breeze. Great for hanging the laundry, if you don’t mind doing that kind of thing on a Sunday. Likewise, the grass should be nice and dry, and no doubt ready for a cut after all the recent showers. The max temp 15°C on this day, with the south coast being the best place to shelter from the force 5 NNW’ly wind.
Surf and The Water
The conditions in the water will be virtually the same as on Saturday. The only minor difference being slightly smaller, choppier west-coast surf. Small tides again, with a low of 3.7m at 10:40am and a high of 7.3m at 4:40pm
Monday and Tuesday
The Weather
A couple of cloudier but warmer days than the weekend. There is a slim chance of the odd light shower, when the cloud thickens up a bit. But, equally, there should also be some weak sunshine when the cloud thins a bit. The wind should be a gentle to moderate W’ly on both days and the temperatures should peak at about 18°C, with Town always being the warmest area.
Surf and The Water
The west-coast surf should be fairly clean at times (2-4 foot), when the wind falls light. Over on the east coast, there should be some lovely swimming conditions (water temperatures still around 17°C), especially around high water, which will generally be late afternoon / early evening.
The Rest of Next Week
The Weather
I’m confident that it’s going to be a wet and windy end to the working week. However, the precise daily details will probably change a bit from update to update. Currently, the expectation is for Wednesday or Thursday of next week to be very wet, but not quite as stormy as the Wednesday and Thursday that we have just had. Friday, however, possibly even wetter, and most likely with gales or even severe gales.
Surf and The Water
Big tides (over 9m on the highs), with the surf getting bigger day by day, probably 6+ feet on Thursday and maybe 1+feet on Friday.
The next forecast update will be with you on Sunday night.
