Friday
Weather
Pretty much a repeat of Thursday, meaning that we should bag a top temp of about 16C from a mixture of cloud, sunshine and perhaps the odd patch of sea mist. Because the wind will be a force 3 to4 NW’ly, the warmest and most comfortable areas will be along the east and the south coasts (particularly Town).
Surf and Tide
3-4 feet and only slightly choppy on the west coast, because the onshore wind won’t be particularly strong. Maybe you could also try Petit Bot between mid and low tide, for some smaller but cleaner bodyboarding waves. High water 7.6m at 10:50am, low water 3m at 4:50pm.
Satuday
Weather
Slightly lighter NW’ly winds than on Friday, but also a little more cloud. Thus balancing out at a very similar temperature. If anything, the max will be a degree lower (just 15C) but it really ought to feel just as comfortable.
Surf and Tide
2-3 feet and reasonably clean, due to the lightness of the onshore wind. High water 7.1m at 11:30am, low water 3.5m at 5:30pm. (Good luck to anybody who is competing in the British Nationals over in Jersey)
Sunday
Weather
Now this day is looking like a murky one. Humid air will be upon us, thanks to a weak warm front and a force 4 W’ly wind. Initially patchy sea-mist will probably become widespread, prolonged and thick enough to give us some patchy drizzle (most likely in the late afternoon). If we do get any sunshine, then we are probably looking at the late evening (towards sunset). Max temps probably not exceeding 14C.
Surf and Tide
Choppy 4 feet waves at Vazon and Portinfer. Nothing too special, but there should definitely be some surfable fun fro shortboarders. High water 6.8m just after midday, low water 3.5m at 6:30am and 3.9m at 6:50pm.
Bank Holiday Monday
Weather
Occasionally cloudy but mostly sunny, also rather breezy and not especially warm. However, the best news is that we will have a whole day that is free from any mist, fog or drizzle. Town and Fermain will certainly be the most comfortable areas to enjoy the Bank Holiday
Surf and Tide
The waves should be just like Sunday’s, but possibly a tad bigger at times. With a tiny tidal range, all times of day will be equally good to surf on the west coast. However, if you’re heading to Petit Bot, then it would be best to shoot for low tide, between 6 and 9pm.
The Rest of Next Week
Nothing is too certain at this range, but currently, forecast models are predicting that the weather will be up and down like a yoyo; Tuesday windy with showers, Wednesday dry, sunny and settled, Thursday similar to Tuesday but probably not quite as rough, then turning increasingly hot and summery from Friday into the first weekend of June.
The next forecast update will be on Bank Holiday Monday.
