Friday
Weather
Starting off rather grey and overcast, but with the cloud refreshingly high above the ground and the visibility looking great underneath it. Probably brightening up by late morning though, and then sunny for most of this afternoon and evening. Yesterday we hit 17.5C at the airport, so with very little wind today, we should easily get to 19C there, and maybe 20C or more in Town.
Surf and Tides
Lovely clean 2 foot waves on the west coast for most of the day, but probably best in the mid-afternoon. Tides; low 2.5m at 11:30am, high 7.9m at 5:30pm.
Saturday
Weather
The hottest day of the week, with temperatures will into the twenties. Winds will be light SE’ly, so the north and west coasts will be the hottest. South and east coasts should be pretty lovely too, only a teeny bit cooler, which some people might find quite refreshing.
Surf and Tides
Gorgeous clean 2 foot surf again. Tides will be high at 5:50am and 6:10pm, at 8m and 8.2m respectively.. low water will be at ten past midday.
Sunday
Weather
With humidity peaking on this day, the risk of sea-mist will be pretty high on all coasts, but particularly the south and west, thanks to a force 3-4 SW’ly breeze. Although most of the day will have similar hazy sunshine to that of Saturday; max temperatures will be a few degrees down, and then we should be in for a good old downpour in the evening, as a cold front sweeps through, and puts to bed any ideas of a heatwave.
Surf and Tides
Tidal range getting pretty big now, with a low of 1.7m at lunchtime and a high of 8.6m in the early evening. As for the surf; at least a foot bigger than on Saturday, but getting slightly choppier as the day progresses. Those who get up for the dawn should be well rewarded.
Monday and Tuesday
With low pressure settling over Northern Britain, we should have consistent force 2-3 SW’ly or S’ly winds and air of an average but very pleasant temperature. What won't be consistent is the dryness and sunshine. That going to be very on and off I'm afraid. The current expectation is for Monday to be nice and for Tuesday to get a soaking. However, the order of events could very easily be rearranged. The surf is looking fun on both days, but big tides will mean that you have to plan carefully and seize your opportunities.
The Rest of the Week
The same sort of temperature, wind and mixed weather as on Monday and Tuesday, with continuing uncertainty about the running order. Suffice to say, with plenty of sunshine and plenty of rain, the grass will be growing so fast that you might have to cut it twice.
The next forecast update will be on Sunday.
