Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 14 June 2019

Friday

Weather

Much like yesterday, a few light showers will be scattered around the channel, so there is a slim chance that we will catch one, but a greater chance that we will stay dry. Slightly different from yesterday though, not nearly as much cloud around. Therefore, longer spells of sunshine should take out temperatures as high as 17C. Still nothing special for this time of year, but noticeably better than the week so far. The wind will be a moderate SW’ly to start, falling to a light S’ly later.

Surf and Tide

Clean but rather weak 1-2 feet waves. Tides and winds will be perfect for the early afternoon and the evening sessions. Low water will be 2.1m at 11:20am. High water will be 8.3m at 5:20pm.

Saturday

Weather

Showers actually look more likely on this day, because a band of rain will approach from the Atlantic. It will fragment on its journey here though, meaning that it will probably simply result in fairly cloudy conditions with a few spits and spots of very little consequence, around lunchtime. The best chance of sunshine is likely to be in the late afternoon. The wind will be a moderate to fresh S’ly at first, becoming gentler later in the day.

Surf and Tide

Small clean surf again (best for kids really). Low water will be about 2m at roughly midday. High water will be about 8.5m at roughly 6am and 6pm.

Sunday

Weather

Probably the sunniest and most definitely dry day for some time. Consequently the temperatures should be on the rise, peeking at a healthy 18C (maybe even 19C in Town). Winds force 4 SW’ly.

Surf and Tide

The waves will be a bit sloppy and choppy, but still rideable, especially for kids. High water will be roughly 8.6m at 6:30am and 8.8m at 7pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Dry and sunny on both days, with light SW’ly breezes on Monday and gentle E’ly winds on Tuesday. Mondays temperatures should peak at 18-19C in Town. Tuesday’s should peak at about 20C in western parishes. Things to watch out for; very high UV (only a few days away from the solstice) and maybe a juicy thunderstorm on Tuesday night.

Wednesday and Thursday

The risk of thunderstorms will continue into Wednesday, but then we should return to a mostly dry situation with a mixture of cloud and sunshine. Temperatures just falling slightly, as the breeze returns to a SW’ly direction through Wednesday and then a WNW’ly through Thursday.

The next forecast update should be on Sunday.
