Wednesday
Weather
These forecasts are going to be pretty brief and simple. Sunny with temperatures peaking at 20C. The warmest and most sheltered beaches will be along the south coast, particularly Petit Port and Jaonnet Bay. In the various west-coast bays, the cosy northern corners should also be good at high tide.
Surf and Tide
Flat water conditions for swimming SUPing and kayaking on the sheltered southern beaches. Choppy but still unsurfable on the windward side. The tidal range is getting bigger. High water will be about 8.8m at 7:40am and 9.2m at 8pm. Low water will be 1.4m at 2pm.
Thursday
Weather
Everything pretty much as above. If anything, a small swather of inherently cooler air might just take a degree off the top temperature
Surf and Tide
Once again, flat water conditions for swimming SUPing and kayaking on the sheltered southern beaches. Choppy but still unsurfable on the windward side. Tides bigger again. High water will be about 9m at 8:30am and 9.3m at 8:50pm. Low water will be 1.2m at 2:50pm.
Friday
Weather
No change in the flawless weather, but this time a body of warmer air should soft our way on a slightly gentler NE’ly breeze, lifting the mercury all the way to 21 or 22C.
Surf and Tide
Still no surf, but possibly the good conditions for swimming SUPing and kayaking will spread to the other beaches, thanks to a reduction in wind. No change in the tidal range is getting bigger. High water will be about 9m at 9:20am and 9.3m at 9:300pm. Low water will be 1.2m at 3:30pm.
The Weekend
Not a lot of change in wind direction, and therefore the preference for south-coast beaches. However, it will be a degree or two cooler, due to an increase in the amount of cloud, as North Sea showers wander in our direction. It's doubtful that the showers will survive as far as the Channel Islands, but there is a slim possibility off it on both days. The only other thing to note is that there is a slim chance if a surfable 1-2 foot wave on Sunday (fingers crossed).
Next Monday and Tuesday
Details aren't particularly certain next week, because the wind direction will vary from day to day. What I can say with a bit of confidence though, is that the word ’settled’ seems for more appropriate than ‘unsettled’. Whatever, the direction, the winds will never be very strong, and if we get any cloudy spells then they are unlikely to produce any rain. .
The next Forecast update will be on Friday morning..
