The Weekend
Weather
A couple of cloudier days than the recent super-sunny week. That said. Most of the cloud will be front-loaded into the mornings, leaving some lengthy spells of sunshine in the afternoons. Winds will be light N’ly, only force 2-3 on both day, so the 19-21C heat should feel really pleasant in all parts of the island. However, the south coast will always be the toastiest, and the spring tides will mean that the beaches are extra large and sandy during the afternoons.
Surf and Tide
Flat water conditions for swimming SUPing and kayaking on Saturday. Maybe, just maybe, some 1-2 feet waves on the west coast on Sunday though. The tides will be just over 9m high on Saturday and just under 9m on Sunday. High water in the late mornings and low water in the late afternoons.
Monday and Tuesday
Weather
Force 3 NNE’ly winds will bring air of a similar temperature to that of the weekend. However, I think the sunshine will be a bit more prolonged and intense, so don't forget to slap on plenty of protection.
Surf and Tide
Still just a slim hope of a few knee high waves on the west coast, but we are mainly looking at more flat water activity in the sheltered south-coast bays. The tides will gradually taper off from about 8.5m high on Monday morning to just under 8m on Tuesday night. High water will be at 11:40am on Monday and 12:30pm on Tuesday.
The rest of Next Week
The light NE’ly winds look set to stay, along with the average to warm temperatures that they bring (maxima generally around 21C and minima generally around 14C). Every day will bring a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, along with the slight risk of a shower. However, it's just as likely that the showers will all miss the islands, so it would still be wise not to waste water. Although June was a relatively wet month, a lot of the rain fell in short sharp bursts, so a lot of that rain will have been lost to run-off.
Next weekend
Early indications suggest very little change to the overall theme, so it should be very similar to this weekend, but quite possibly a bit hotter by then.
The next of which should be on Sunday evening.
