Monday
Weather
Force 4 SSW’ly winds gradually veering WNW’ly through the day, as early mist drizzle and murk steadily gives way to partial sunshine. The morning will be the best time to exploit your indoor activities. Then the finer afternoon weather will be best enjoyed in Town or down at Fermain. Max temp 20C in most places but 21C in Town.
Surf and Tide
3-4 feet and rather sloppy. Pretty clean for the pre-breakfast session but choppy through the rest of the day. The tidal range is getting smaller now, since those big tides last week. High water will be 9.3m at 10:30am, low water will be 1.2m at 4:50pm.
Tuesday
Weather
Force 4 SW’ly winds will bring a day of intermittent sunshine and cloudy spells, with temperatures just the same as on Monday. The vast majority of the day should be dry, but there will be showers scattered across the Channel, and one or two of them are bound to briefly bump into the Islands.
Surf and Tide
Cleanish 3 foot waves, especially in the morning. High will be 8.8m at 11:20am. Low will be 1.7m at 5:40pm.
Wednesday
Weather
Bright sunshine all day. Watch out for sunburn though. The UV index will be 7 and most parts the north and east coasts will be lovely and sheltered from the force 4 WSW’ly winds. Once again, 20C should be the top temp in most places, but Town could notch up to about 21 or 22C.
Surf and Tide
Sloppy 2-3 foot waves all day. High will be at 8.2m at ten minutes past midday. Low water at 6am and 6:20pm.
Thursday and Friday
Warming up by a degree or three, as the winds back to a continental SSE’ly direction. Hazy sunshine should prevail through Thursday and the first few hours of Friday. Probably turning cloudy and showery on Friday afternoon though. Furthermore the wind will be sprucing up from a mere force 3-4 on Thursday, to something like a force 6 on Friday. Game on for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
The Weekend
Looking pretty unsettled I'm afraid. Saturday with strong SW’ly winds, cloud and frequent showers. Sunday with moderate W’ly winds and a bit more sunshines, but certainly not a scorcher. Currently, there's no sign of that until perhaps the second half of the month.
Look out for my next forecast update on Tuesday or Wednesday.
