Staying unsettled for the most part, with plenty of day-to-day differences, but temperatures consistently maxing out between 19 and 21 degrees, (maybe occasionally 22 degrees in Town).
Monday
Weather
After a very slow clearance of some morning thunderstorms, we should see some healthy spells of sunshine develop in the afternoon. By that time, any further showers will not be not impossible but, being rather sparse, they will be quite unlikely to hit the islands. With a force 4-5 WNW’ly wind all day, the most sheltered and pleasant areas should be Town and Fermain, closely followed by Moulin Huet, Saints and Petit Bot.
Surf and Tide
Maybe some small but fun bodysurfing waves at Petit Bot at times, but that's about all. For precise tide details click across to the tides page, but suffice to say that early afternoon and late evening will be best for any Petit Bot fun.
Tuesday
Weather
Once again, the showers will be most frequent and heavy in the morning (although probably not thundery this time) and the sunshine should be most abundant in the afternoon. However, it will get cloudy in the evening ahead of some overnight rain, so let's hope the sunshine doesn't get squeezed out altogether. Whatever we are treated to, it should be most comfortable along the east coast, due to its shelter from the force 3-4 W’ly wind.
Surf and Tide
A sloppy choppy 2-3 foot wave on the west coast, might be fun in the late afternoon, as the tide pushes towards its high point. Click across to the tides page for precise times and heights.
Wednesday
Weather
Although showery in nature, the overnight rain will unfortunately continue through most of the day, right into the evening. Winds will be from the SSW, so the air will be pleasantly mild.
Surf and Tide
However much we might prefer sunshine, it's still going to be fun for the kids to mess around in the clean ripples along the west and north coasts. Then in the late afternoon, those ripples should turn into some proper 3+feet waves for the adults to enjoy too. Low tide at lunchtime, highs at breakfast and dinner. Click across to the tides page for the more precise details.
Thursday and Friday
It's almost like Tuesday and Wednesday on repeat; with sunshine being brought by a moderate WNW'ly breeze on Thursday and then plentiful rain being brought by a SSW’ly on Friday. The main positive that we can realistically hope for, is that Friday's rain won't arrive until very late in the day, in which case it would actually be lovely and warm. Also the surf will be pretty good on Friday (and maybe even on Thursday, if the wind is light enough).
The weekend
No light in this part of the tunnel I'm afraid, unless you're a windsurfer that is. Both days are set to have strong winds and rough seas. Saturday looks the wettest day by a longshot, whilst winds are from the SSW. Sunday will probably be a mix of sunshine and showers, whilst the wind comes directly from the W.
Look out for my next forecast update on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
