Wednesday
Weather
Force 4-5 SSW’ly wind will bring a grey and murky day, with occasional heavy rain in the morning and misty drizzle in the afternoon. Hill fog is likely at times, especially late afternoon. I can't promise any sunshine, but the evening might be relatively pleasant and dry, especially around a Town and Fermain.
Surf and Tide
The morning should be fun for the kids to mess around in the clean ripples along the west coast. Then in the late afternoon, those ripples should turn in to some proper 3+feet waves for the adults to enjoy too. Low tide at lunchtime, highs at breakfast and dinner. Click across to the tides page for the more precise details.
Thursday
Weather
A dry day with force 3-4 W’ly winds and a whole bunch of pleasant sunny spells. Everywhere should feel much nicer than Wednesday, but once again, the east coast will be the warmest, this time peaking at about 21C
Surf and Tide
Choppy but fairly chunky 4 foot waves on the west coast, definitely worth a bash, especially at breakfast time or late afternoon. Low tide at lunchtime again, click across to the tides page for all the times and heights.
Friday
Weather
And as the winds switch back to the same SSW’ ly direction as on Wednesday, so does the weather switch back to wet and murky. The only difference though, is that the foul weather probably won't kick off until mid or late afternoon. So, if we can salvage a dry and pleasant morning, then my recommendation would probably be the Pleinmont area for a good amount of warmth and shelter.
Surf and Tide
2 feet and clean on the west coast. A big tidal range to navigate though; Click across to the tides page for all those details.
The weekend
Not as windy as it was looking when I last wrote the forecast. It's probably going to be a force 4-5 SW’ly on Saturday, then a force 5 or perhaps 6 WSW’ly on Sunday. Both days are likely to see some wet time as weather fronts sweep though, but there will also be some brighter times, especially on Sunday afternoon.
Next Week
There could be a further shower or two on Monday and perhaps early Tuesday, but it certainly won't be as windy as the weekend, so there should be lots of good outdoor fun to be had, even though temperatures will be a bit cooler than average for August. Wednesday onwards however, is looking properly summery though. With high pressure settling over Southwest Britain, it's looking as though gentle N’ly breezes will bring nothing but sunshine, gradually lifting temperatures slightly higher than the seasonal norm.
Look out for my next forecast update on Friday evening.
