Saturday
Weather
The force 3-5 WSW’ly wind is a slight variation from Friday. However, the overall sequence of weather is pretty much the same. We have a few bright spells during the morning, followed by gathering voids in the afternoon, ahead of rain in the evening and overnight, some of which will be heavy and perhaps misty. Town and Fermain will be the warmest areas, maxing out around 20C in the middle of the day.
Surf and Tide
Some fairly chunky 4+feet west-coast waves all day, if rather choppy. High tides of about 8.8m at breakfast time and 9m at dusk.
Sunday
Weather
A few showers lingering into the morning, but otherwise dry and mostly sunny (especially in the afternoon. Wind-wise, it's looking just the same as on Saturday, with a WSW’ly - force 3-5 depending on how exposed your particular area is (once again, Town and Fermain will be the most protected).
Surf and Tide
Very little variation from Saturday in either the surf or the tides. Click across to the tides page for precise times and heights.
Monday
Weather
The days continue to come in pairs. Just as Friday and Saturday were virtually the same, likewise Monday will be a pretty good copy of Sunday. The only slight difference being the overnight period, going into Tuesday, which should have less wind and less cloud, making it relatively chilly, with a minimum temperature of just 12 C.
Surf and Tide
Waves 3-4 feet and possibly quite clean in the evening, thanks to the reduction in wind. The tide should be just about right at that time, for Vazon, as it will be pushing towards its 8.5m high at roughly 10pm.
The Rest of the Week
High pressure will extend from Biscay over the Channel, giving us a fabulously sunny Tuesday, with force 3-4 WNW’ly breezes. Once again, eastern parts will generally feel warmest, but this time there will also be some toasty stretches of the south coast, just to the east of the various headlands. Wednesday will see further calmness, as winds fall light and variable, meaning that all parts of the island should be equally lovely. Temperatures still pretty average though, only peaking at 20C or perhaps 21 at a push. Thursday and Friday should the see the establishment of an ENE’ly breeze, which should gradually bring warmer air to the islands. Therefore, we should see temperatures rise by at least a degree per day, as we continue to enjoy plenty of sunshine, especially on southern and western coasts.
Look out for my next forecast update on Monday Evening (campsite wifi permitting).
