### WEDNESDAY
WEATHER
A cloudy and misty day, with virtually no wind. There is a risk that the mist will degenerate into fog at times, the greatest risk being over high ground during the latter part of the day, so there is a possibility of some disruption to air traffic. Please don’t message me for any further detail though, because that really is as much as I can give.
SURF AND TIDE
Wave; 2-3 feet and beautifully clean on the west coast (best early and late). Tides; highs of 9.3m at 6am and 9.4m 6:30pm; low water 0.6m at 12:30pm.
THURSDAY
WEATHER
A marginally brighter day, with mist generally thinning to give hazy sunshine at times. At the moment, the only risk of fog appears to be first thing in the morning. The top temperature should be 12-13C and the breeze will only be a force 2 SW’ly.
SURF AND TIDE
Wave; 2-3 feet and beautifully clean on the west coast again (best early and late). Tides; highs of 9.8m at 6:40am and 7:10pm; low water 0.2m at 1:10pm.
FRIDAY
WEATHER
With no change in wind, but a continued thinning of cloud and a slight improvement in visibility, this should be the warmest day of the week, with a possible max of 13-14C. Everywhere should be pleasant, but the cherry on the cake will probably be an after-school/work visit to one of the north or west coast beaches.
SURF AND TIDE
Wave; 2-3 feet and beautifully clean on the west coast again (best early and late). Tides; highs of 10.1m at 7:30am and 9.9m 7:50pm; low water 0m at 2pm.
THE WEEKEND
Certainly looking as though Sunday will be the finer day. Although it uncertain how much worse Saturday will be. The story is that a weak weather-front, consisting mainly of cloud but also some light rain, will wander erratically southwards from the UK on Saturday, decaying as it goes. This means that there is a still chance of Saturday being quite pleasant, possibly even with some hazy sunshine in the mix. However, what is more clear cut is that Sunday will simply be sunny. That sunshine will come through slightly cooler air though, so I doubt that there will be much difference between the max temperature on each day. Probably both around the 12C mark. The wind on both days will be about force 3 and variable in direction, due to the subtle movements of the high pressure centre, which will always be close-by to the west. The surf should be reasonably clean on both days, with waves about 1-3 feet and the tid al range very large (the heighest being about 10m at 8:10am on Saturday.
THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK
Dry and mainly sunny. The wind should gradually settling into a moderate NE’ly, as the high pressure system builds over the UK. This means that the south coast will generally be the warmest area to go and enjoy the beauty of Spring. Daytime temperatures should be just on the mild side of normal, peaking at 13-14C by mid-week.
My next update should be on Friday evening.
