Monday

Weather

Cloudy and perhaps misty in the morning and evening, but with a nice sunny section in the middle. The light NW’ly wind (force 2-3) will have little effect on the generally warm air. Most places will peak at 22C, but the most sheltered parts (such as Town, Fermain and most south coast bays) will hopefully sneak up to 23C.

Surf and Tide

Surf; 1-2 feet and pretty weak (great for kids though). The tidal range is nice and small right now, with a low of 3.6m at 9:20am and a high of 7.1m at 3:20pm.

Tuesday

Weather

With the gentle NW’ly flow continuing to bring some spells of sunshine (probably more so than on Monday) we should see an extra degree of heat in all parts of the island.

Surf and Tide

1-2 feet and fairly clean, gradually getting slightly bigger towards the evening. The tide will be 3.1m low at 10:40am and 7.7m high at 4:50pm.

Wednesday

After a couple of days with showers sailing across the mouth of the Channel, mostly missing us and piling into Cornwall and Devon, it looks as though they will probably take a turn in our direction on Wednesday. They shouldn't be too prolonged or heavy though, so sunny spells and light W’ly breezes should become the main themes of the day. 20-21C should be the max in most parts, except for Town where we will probably see 22C.

Surf and Tide

2-3 feet and reasonably clean, gradually getting slightly bigger towards the evening. The tidal range will be getting bigger too, with a 2.4m low at 11:50am and an 8.4m high at 5:50pm.

Thursday and Friday

A couple of average days (which of course is very pleasant in late August). No rain is expected and winds will be force 3-4 W’ly for the most part, typically giving us top temperatures of 21 but probably giving us 22C in Town.

The Weekend

It's still a long way off, so the usual pinch of salt is required. However, current expectations are for temperatures to be marginally above average through the weekend, with a high chance of showers on Saturday and probably a good dose of sunshine on Sunday.
