Guernsey Weather Fox

7-day Forecast. Starting Monday 16/09/2019

Monday

Weather

A cloudy day on the whole, with just a slim chance of some brief sunny interludes in the middle part of the day. The cloud will be on the low side at dawn, perhaps making things a little misty, but I doubt we shall see any proper fog until the evening time. Furthermore it will probably be a bit drizzzly, when that murk comes along at the end of the day. Winds will be very light NW’ly, so everywehere should be comfortably mild, but Town will certainly feel the warmest.

Surf and Tide

The morning surf should be almost identical to Sunday (small and sloppy), but the evening could pick up to a pretty decent 2 feet. High water 8.8m at 8:40am, Low water 1.6m at 3pm.

Tuesday

Weather

I’m expecting a rather murky start, with mist and possibly some drizzle and hill fog hanging around for the first couple of daylight hours. Things should then brighten up fairly quickly, with the afternoon actually being lovely and sunny again. Winds will be NE’ly throughout, increasing from force 2 to force 4. Head to the south coast to get the most warmth from that afternoon sunshine. Temperatures should reach 19C-20C down there, whilst most other places peak at 18-19C.

Surf and Tide

High water 8.7m at 9:10am, Low water 1.8m at 3:30pm (meaning lots of sand on those south coast beaches). As for the surf, the best session will be 2 feet and cleanish on the west coast at dawn.

Wednesday

Weather

Perhaps a bit cloudy at times in the morning, but as the fresh NE’ly wind backs to an E’ly direction, the air will get drier and drier, leaving an afternoon of blazing sunshine. The air still wont be particularly warm though, with temperatures struggling to exceed 18C.

Surf and Tide

Really clean surf on the west coast, but only really big enough for young kids. High water 8.5m at 9:40am, Low water 2m at 3:50pm.

Thursday and Friday

Sunny and sunny again. With a gradual warming as the fresh easterly breeze begins to moderate. By Friday afternoon, the temperature should be as high as 21C. It should be pretty fun in the surf too, with super-clean 1-2 foot waves on both days. Tides will be high in the late mornings, so the breakfast and lunchtime sessions should be best.

The Weekend

SE’ly breezes on Saturday, followed by S’ly on Sunday, will mean that temperatures peak at 22 or 23C on both days. Saturday’s sunshine should be bright, then Sunday’s will be made hazy by high cloud. Look out for a fabulous sunset on Saturday night and maybe some showery rain to close the day on Sunday.

The Next Forecast up date should be with you either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
