Wednesday
Weather
Bright sunshine all day long. The odd puff of fair weather cloud, or a wisp of high cirrus really wont make any difference. The wind is the only compromising factor. With a force 4 or perhaps 5 ENE’ly wind blowing all day, we probably won't see any higher temperature than 18C. There won't be a lot of shelter on offer, except perhaps at Petit Port, Pleinmont or right by the sea-wall at Vazon.
Surf and Tide
Really clean surf at Vazon during the morning and evening, but only big enough for young kids, perhaps not even that I'm afraid. High water 8.5m at 9:40am, Low water 2m at 3:50pm.
Thursday
Almost identical wind and weather to Wednesday. With the equinox only a few days away, the daytime and night time are virtually equal, so we aren't likely to see any cumulative heating, without any change of airmass. There is a slim chance that we could just nudge up to 19C, but that wouldn't really be a noticeable difference.
Surf and Tide
The surf will be similarly small to Wednesday but perhaps just a tad more consistent and dependable, so hopefully some young kids will find a wave early or late. High water will be 8.2m at 10am and low will be about 2.3m at 4:20pm.
Friday
Weather
Wall to wall sunshine, with the ESE’ly wind bringing a slightly greater influence from the French continent. This means that temperatures might peak at 20C. However, you will need to duck behind a wall to enjoy it, as the wind will be stronger… a solid force 5, bordering on force 6 at times. A dream day for drying laundry and absolute heaven for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
Surf and Tide
Maybe the same kind of 1-foot kids’ waves, but it will probably be too much of a battle with the wind. Furthermore, the tides are even more awkwardly placed around the school day. High water will be about 7.8m at 10:40am and low water will be 2.7m at 4:50pm.
The Weekend
Saturday will be the toastiest day of the week, with some proper tropical air blowing in on a force 4-5 SE’ly. Despite an increase in cloud, we should still reach a max of 23C and the tides will be great to enjoy the north and west coast beaches all day long (high water 7.5m at 11:10am). Sunday will then see much more cloud as the wind veers SSW’ly and high shower clouds move over the islands. It's uncertain whether the rain will reach the ground, so don't expect a soaking. Just the odd rogue drop is much more likely, perhaps with a distant rumble of thunder. All in all, it should still be a pretty good day for outdoor activity, especially if that activity is surfing, as we should finally be blessed with some proper good quality 3-foot waves.
Monday and Tuesday
Brisk SSW’ly winds will bring a relatively warm but showery airstream. On the positive side, there should be some good sunny intervals and the surf is looking really promising (about 6 feet and clean throughout).
The next Forecast update should be with you on Thursday or Friday.
