Monday
Weather
Totally dry. Super sunny (most of the time), but the heat will be tempered by a moderate force 4 NE’ly wind, meaning that the temperature will struggle to exceed 17°C in most places, but probably get up to 18°C along the south coast.
Surf and the Water
Flat surf and choppy water for swimmers on most coasts. Not the south coast though… it will be beautifully smooth down there. High tides at dawn and at 5:40pm (7.6m and 7.9m respectively). Low tide will be at 11:40am.
Tuesday
Weather
This is perhaps the day that is most likely to have a shower or two. That said, it’s still only about a 30% chance, meaning there’s a far greater likelihood that we will be bone dry. Skies will be a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine and the wind will be a light force 3 NW’ly. That should feel nice and comfortable, but we don’t tend to get very warm air from that wind direction, so it will probably be a degree cooler than on Monday.
Surf and the Water
Flat surf again, but generally smooth water for swimmers, especially on the east and south coasts. High tides around 6am and at 6:20pm (8m and 8.2m respectively). Low tide will be at 12:20am.
Wednesday to Friday
Weather
Winds will be moderate force 4 WNW’ly on Wednesday and Thursday, then just light force 2-3 SSW’ly on Friday. Sunshine should prevail throughout daylight hours, but we might well be in for a shower or two on Wednesday night. Max temperatures should be 16°C in most parts of the Island each day, but probably 17°C in Town.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be pretty much flat on Wednesday morning, but it should be 2-3 feet and choppy by dusk, then 3-4 feet and choppy all through Thursday. Friday will probably shrink back to 2-3 feet but, on the plus side, it should become lovely and clean. Swimming conditions will be best on the east coast Wednesday and Thursday, then good on all coasts through Friday. Tides will be low at lunchtime. High tides will be around breakfast time and evening time (increasing incrementally from 8.3m to 8.6m).
The Weekend
Weather
Saturday will be rather cloudy but the gentle S’ly breeze will bring pleasantly mild air to the Islands, resulting in a max of 18-19°C. Sunday will likely be much sunnier, but the breeze will veer W’ly. If there is any strength to that wind (force 4 or more) then it probably won’t be any warmer than on Saturday. However, the wind will most likely be nice and light (just force 2-3), in which case we will probably peak at 19-20 °C.
Surf and the Water
Saturday’s surf should be 2-3 feet and clean, just like Fridays, then Sunday’s should be 3-4 feet and choppier, but not as choppy as on Thursday. Low tides will be in the early to mid-afternoons. High tides will be around breakfast time and dusk (varying between 8.5m to 8.7m).
The next forecast update will be on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning…
