Monday
Weather
Ooh dear, you will be hard-pushed to find any dry time on this day. S’ly winds will bring patchy light rain early morning, turning to persistent and occasionally heavy drizzle by late morning. As the wind veers SW’ly in the late afternoon, it will all turn rather misty, with hill fog likely to be a problem through the evening. Soon after midnight, with the wind having veered all the way to a W’ly, the murky horrible weather should all be chased southeastwards.
Surf and Tide
Tiny tidal movements, with just a hint of a high in the early afternoon. Perfect offshore winds for the vast majority of the day and 4-6 feet of swell. Fair to say it's looking goooood.
Tuesday
Weather
Mixed cloud and sunshine for most of the day, freshened up by a force 5 W’ly wind. Going into the evening, showers will become more likely and they may be rather squally overnight, as the wind increase to strong force 6.
Surf and Tide
Messy old waves on this day, but at 6-8 feet they will certainly offer some great ramps to the windsurfers. High water will be 6.8m at 4pm.
Wednesday
Weather
Staying windy with occasional squally showers, punctuated by lengthy spells of sunshine. Those winds will be force 6 Wly for the most part, but they might touch force 7 at times. Therefore, your best shelter will be down in the Fermain area.
Surf and Tide
Very choppy seas, best enjoyed by the windsurfers for sure. This time high water will be about 7.4m at 4:50pm.
Thursday and Friday
Thursday should be just as windy as Wednesday, but the winds will back slightly to a WSW’ly direction and the showers should all clear off to the north. Friday will then see a change to a force 5 SSW’ly, bring some lovely mild air, maybe quite a lot of milky high cloud, but hopefully no rain. In the water, the waves should be about 5 feet and choppy on Thursday, then 3 feet and clean on Friday, with high water getting a little over 8m around dusk.
The Weekend
Strong SW’ly winds and a gradual thickening of cloud, as a slow moving weather front ambles towards us on Saturday, and probably goes on to give us a thoroughly soggy Sunday. This is all quite a long way off though, so don't be surprised if the timings of these events are slightly different on the next Forecast update.
The next forecast update should be with you by Wednesday morning.
