Guernsey Weather Fox

7-day Forecast. Starting Friday 11/10/219

Friday

Weather

Windy and cloudy, but mild and mostly dry during the daytime. Just the odd spit and spot from time to time. Until late evening that is, when rain will become rather persistent and heavy. 17 degrees should be the top temperature, but there will be a force 5-6 SW’ly winds, so you will need a bit of shelter to enjoy it. Maybe around Pleinmont or Richmond if you're on the west coast, or between Town and Fermain if you're on the east coast.

Surf and Tide

The cleanest west-coast waves since Monday. This time we are only talking about 3-5 feet though. Low water at lunchtime, with highs a little over 8m at around 6am and 6pm.

Saturday

Weather

I'm afraid, rather unsurprisingly, the wet weather that was destined for Southern England, has now engulfed the majority of the Channel too. On the plus-side, the wind will fall light and variable, but I'm afraid we are in for rather a lot of rain and maybe some mist.

Surf and Tide 6.8m at 4pm.

The waves could be really nice and clean due to the loss of wind. 3-5 feet again, but with larger tides to dance around, just short of 9m high at dawn and dusk.

Sunday

Weather

The rain and mist will probably persist through the morning and lunchtime, only sparing us for the final few hours of weekend daylight (if we are lucky). This time the winds will be force 4-5 W’ly, so it won't feel quite as mild as on Saturday. Head to sheltered eastern parts, if you're trying to salvage a pleasant afternoon stroll.

Surf and Tide

The choppiest day of the weekend, and probably a foot or two smaller. If you're still keen then I can tell you that high water will be 8.9m at 7:10am, and low water will be 1.9m at 1:30pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Some heavy showers are looking likely on Monday, along with some sunny spells and a few transient rainbows. Tuesday, currently looks dry and sunny, but the forecast at that range is not particularly certain. Both days should have force 5 SSW’ly winds (perhaps a bit stronger at times) and the temperatures should peak at 15 and 17 degrees respectively.

The Rest of Next Week

Sticking with the mild SSW’ly airflow and the alternating pattern of wet and dry. The timing is the uncertain element of the forecast, so it wont necessarily be doom and gloom. The days and nights are still fairly equal in length, so there’s good chance that the rain will be reserved for the night time, and the days will be dominated by sunshine.

The next forecast update should be with you on Sunday evening
