Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 07 February 2026

Sunday

Weather

Light force 3 S’ly winds will feel more comfortable than on Saturday, but the weather not so nice, with cloudy skies and occasional mist, especially in the morning, and the odd sharp shower. Temperatures will peak around 10°C by day and then fall to around 7°C overnight.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean surf again… 4 feet at dawn, 3 feet by dusk. Winds too light for wind-sports but this will make it a much better day for sea-swimming on all coasts. Tides will be 8.1m high at 10:20am, then low at 4:40pm.

Monday

Weather

By dawn, the wind will have backed SSE’ly and increased to force 4-5. Then, by lunchtime, it will be strong force 6, and the squally showers that keep coming and going will bring gusts of about 40mph. °C. There won’t be any proper sunshine between the showers, only some marginally brighter moments from time to time. Temperatures will be a tad lower than Sunady, and they will certainly feel colder… actually peaking around 9°C, but feeling more like 4°C. During the night time, as skies remain cloudy but the wind veers SW’ly, milder air will arrive, actually lifting the temperature to about 11°C by dawn Tuesday.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean surf again… 3 feet all day. Winds will be much better for windsurfing and kitesurfing, especially in the afternoon, but not so good for sea-swimming, except in sheltered bays like L’Ancresse around high tide. Tides will be 7.5m high at 10:50am, then low at 5:10pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

Tuesday will be another cloudy day with occasional showers, but the wind will be a force 4-5 SW’ly. Wednesday morning likewise, but with the wind veering to a force 5-6 WSW’ly. Wednesday afternoon’s showers then merging into persistent heavy rain, as the wind backs to a gentler SSEly. Temperatures peaking around 11°C each day, and falling to around 9°C each night.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be quite a lot bigger than the previous days but also quite a lot choppier (except perhaps late afternoon Wednesday. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will be mostly good. Swimming conditions will be best in the sheltered southeastern spots like Havelet and Fermain. A very small tidal range, with just the hint of a high just before midday on Tuesday and just after midday on Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

The back end of the forecast period is always the most uncertain, but the current expectation is for Thursday to be more or less a repeat of Wednesday, and then cooler Friday but much drier and sunnier… the wind decreasing to a light force 3 NW’ly and the temperature only climbing to 9-10°C, but feeling positively spring-like compared to the previous wet and windy days.

Surf and the Water

Very large and choppy surf. Thursday being particularly large... roughly 10-12 feet. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will be mostly good. Swimming conditions will be good in sheltered east coast bays both days, and also on the south coast on Friday. A very small tidal range, with just the hint of a high around 2:30pm Thursday and around 4pm Friday.

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday…
