Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 21 February 2026

Sunday

Weather

It’s looking like another very foggy and very drizzly day, so there will no doubt be more travel disruption, but at least it appears to have a time-limit on this occasion, with the first cold front clearing around 3 or 4pm, breaking the fog apart and likely improving the visibility to the more manageable mist category. The second cold front then coming around 6 or 7pm and clearing the low cloud to reveal a fabulous ceiling of stars. Winds will be much the same as on Saturday… force 5 SW’ly in the morning, then a force 4 WSW’ly in the afternoon and night. Temperatures will hold at 11°C right up until that second cold front clears the cloud away, and then it will gradually fall to an overnight minimum of 8-9°C.

Surf and the Water

Very solid surf, reasonably clean on the west coast where it will be 10 feet, and super-clean on the north where it will be 4-5 feet. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will be best in the morning, probably too slack in the afternoon. With such a powerful swell the east coast will certainly be the place where swimmers should head. Tides will be about 9m high at 9:30am (super-splashy on the west coast) and low at 3:20pm.

Monday

Weather

On this occasion, the morning will be partly sunny and then the afternoon will become cloudy, misty and I’m afraid to say occasionally foggy and drizzly. I’m afraid this means that some air traffic disruption is likely towards evening, if not before. The wind and temperatures very similar to those of the weekend, with a moderate force 4 SW’ly taking us to a daytime max of 11°C and then to an overnight min of 9°C.

Surf and the Water

Slightly smaller but still very solid surf, reasonably clean on the west coast where it will be 8 feet, and super-clean on the north where it will be 3-4 feet. Again, with such a powerful swell the east coast will certainly be the best place for swimmers to head. Tides will be about 8.4m high at 10:10am and low at 4:30pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

It may take the first hour or two of daylight to fully shake off the cloud and mist, but the rest of the day will be dominated by sunshine, brought by a decreasing SSE’ly breeze (moderate force 4 in the morning, light force 2-3 in the afternoon). This proper spring weather should lift the temperature to very comfortable max of 12-13°C, a real treat after recent conditions. Overnight, a little cooler though, with a min of about 7°C under beautifully starry skies. Wednesday will then be similarly sunny and warm, but there could be some high cloud softening that sunshine at times. There’s a high chance of hitting a UV index of 3 around lunchtime both days, which will certainly stir the sap in the trees and the various budding flowers, as well as lifting the spirits of humans and other animals.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean west-coast surf, only shrinking very gradually from around 6 feet at the start of Tuesday to 4 feet by the end of Wednesday. Great weather for sea-swimmers. Tidal movements becoming nice and small, with highs of 7.8m around 11am on Tuesday and then 7m around midday on Wednesday. Low tides shortly before dawn and after dusk.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

Probably not much cooler than those sunny days, but certainly much cloudier and I’m afraid to say occasionally wet and windy. Those winds will be SSW’ly, generally force 4-5, but likely picking up to strong force 6 when the odd soggy weather front sweeps through (at this stage, however, the timings are too uncertain to pin down). Daily maxima 11-12°C. Nightly minima 9-10°C.

Surf and the Water

Another couple of clean top-quality surf days, with a baseline wave-height of about 4 feet, likely picking up to about 6 feet with a fresh pulse of swell at some time or another (at this stage uncertain). Small tidal movements, with breakfast time lows followed by afternoon highs of 6.7m and 7m Thursday and Friday respectively.

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday…
