Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 06 March 2026

Friday

Weather

A thoroughly grey and murky day, with occasional rain and drizzle, as well as mist and hill fog (mainly in the morning). All that is a bit unusual with a force 3-4 N’ly breeze. However, the issue today is that a front is simply stagnating over the area, so that N’ly breeze isn’t really managing to import any of the usual cool air. That said, compared to recent sunnier days, the max of 11°C really won’t be feeling special.

Surf and the Water

The cross-shore breeze won’t be especially strong but it will be a bit of a spoiler for the 3-4 foot surf. South-coast swimming conditions will be lovely though (if you don’t mind the silver-tone sky and sea). Tides will be big but not as big as Thursday. Highs will be 9.5m at 8:20am and 9.2m around 8:40pm. Low water will be at 3:10pm.

Saturday

Weather

Probably no rain or drizzle on this day, but still plenty of mist and hill fog through the morning. It should all clear up nicely in the afternoon though, giving way to some bright spells to finish the day. The wind E’ly on this occasion, and a tad lighter, only force 2-3, so any sunshine that does manage to penetrate the cloud will feel warmer than on Friday. Max temp 12-13°C. Overnight, the clouds will stay cloudy and the mist and fog patches will likely return, so the temperature will probably fall no lower than 9-10°C.

Surf and the Water

Clean 4 foot surf. And slightly better weather for swimming, at least in the afternoon on the west and south coasts (hopefully). High tides will be at 8:50am (9.1m) and at 9pm (8.8m). Low tide will be at 3:10pm.

Sunday

Weather

Like Saturday, we are looking at a murky start, followed by a bright finish. This time, however, with a greater amount of sunshine and the force 2-3 breeze coming from a SSE’ly direction. Max temp most likely 13°C, but maybe 14°C if we are lucky. Overnight, some thunderstorms are expected to develop over Biscay and Finistere, and there’s just a slim chance they might drift east enough to brush the Islands.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 5 foot surf. And again better weather for swimming in the afternoon, this time on the west and north coasts. High tides will be at 9:15am (8.6m) and at 9:30pm (8.3m). Low tide will be at 3:30pm.

Next Week

Weather

It’s a week of two halves. There might be some showers on Monday morning, but that’s the only real possibility of some wetness in the first half of the week, when we should see plenty of sunny spells (especially during the afternoons). From late Wednesday onward, the wind will shift from the former light SE’ly, to a moderate to fresh SW’ly and the likelihood of showers will increase a little every day. Temperatures actually a little higher in the second half of the week, despite the less settled weather. The incremental increase should be about half a degree per day, such that we reach about 15°C by Thursday or Friday. .### Surf and the Water The surf forecast looks to be roughly 2-4 feet in the first half of the week and 5-8 feet in the second. Conditions cleanest when the waves are smallest. Only a little bit messier when the swell gets big. And the second half of the week might also offer decent windsurfing conditions too. Tides will be about 8m on Monday morning’s high, reducing to 6.1m by the time we get to the Friday lunchtime high.

The next forecast update will be on Sunday evening…
