Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 09 March 2026

Monday

Weather

A slightly misty morning, but less so than recent days. Sunny spells coming along later, and some pleasant spring warmth coming along on the light force 2 SSW’ly breeze. Daytime temps will peak around 13°C and then overnight temps will fall to about 10°C.

Surf and the Water

Clean 4 foot surf on the west coast, and good for cold-water swimming condition in most areas too. The tide will be 8m high around 9:40am and then low water will be around 3:50pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather

Two dry days separated by a very wet night. Tuesday being mostly cloudy and perhaps a little misty with a light force 3 SSW’ly. Wednesday being bright and sunny but with a fresh and perky force 4-5 WNW’ly. The elements will all balance out in the end to give equal max temps of 13°C, but Tuesday will probably feel warmer due to the lightness of the breeze. And if you, want to escape Wednesday’s rather irritating wind, then the east coast will be the easiest place to do that.

Surf and the Water

Clean 2-3 foot surf on Tuesday, followed by messy 6-8 foot surf on Wednesday. Swimmers will find reasonable conditions on all coasts on Tuesday, but they will be restricted to the east coast and a couple of south-coast nooks on Wednesday. High tides in the late mornings (7.4m and 6.8m respectively). Low tides in the late afternoons.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

Windy again I’m afraid, but this time also wet and probably a bit colder too. Thursday having a cloudy but mostly dry force 4-5 SSW’ly, increasing strong force 6 and showery WSW’ly in the evening. Friday’s wind then veering to a gusty force 5 WNW’ly with frequent showers of rain or hail. The temperatures peaking around 12°C on Thursday and just 9-10°C on Friday. Once again, the best shelter will be in the east.

Surf and the Water

The alternating pattern will continue, clean medium-small surf one day, much larger but also much messier surf the next. These messy days will certainly be good for windsurfers and kitesurfers though. Tidal movements will be tiny, with just the hints of high water around lunchtime, and some barely noticeable lows around breakfast time and dinnertime.

The Weekend

Weather

Sticking with the unsettled theme, Saturday will be very wet and murky but reasonably mild, with a force 3-4 SE’ly breeze, then Sunday will be bright and breezy with sunshine and frequent showers, carried along swiftly by the force 5-6 WNW’ly. Temperatures peaking around 12°C and 10°C respectively.

Surf and the Water

Sticking with the tiny tidal movements, the relative lows will be mid-morning and the relative highs late afternoon. Saturday’s surf should be clean and pretty chunky on this occasion (6-8 feet). Sunday’s surf being both smaller and messier will be much better suited to windsurfing and kitesurfing.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning…
