Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 24 March 2026

Tuesday

Weather

A cloudy day, but with a little brightness and some reasonable warmth on the sheltered side of the Island, particularly Town (max 14°C). The wind will be SW’ly moderate force 4 for most of the morning, fresh force 5 in the afternoon, then increasing to strong force 6 in the evening as rain approaches. That rain will whistle through around 10-11pm, and then the rest of the night will have a very blustery combination of clear spells and isolated showers. The wind blowing at a noisy force 6-7, with occasional gusts of around 50-55mph.

Surf and the Water

Choppy 2 foot surf. Very missable indeed. Some decent windsurfing and kitesurfing by the end of the day though, and a reasonable morning for swimming along the east coast. Tides will be high around 10am (8.4m) and low around 4pm.

Wednesday and Thursday

Weather

Wednesday will be sunshine and showers… the sunshine much more prevalent than the showers but those showers heavy and possibly with hail. The most noticeable and nasty element will be the force 6-7 NW’ly wind, that will bring some very cold feeling air. The max temperature being a rather pathetic 8-9°C, with the wind-chill making it feel more like 3°C. The only places to feel any kind of warmth will be in the shelter of the cliffs along the south coast and the southern half of the east coast. Thursday, will maintain the cold airflow, but it will ease significantly to about moderate force 4, and the showers will reduce to near zero. Thus, Thursday, although not exceeding 10°C, will feel decidedly more pleasant than Wednesday.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be very messy indeed... roughly 8 feet on Wednesday and then 4 feet on Thursday. Some decent windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions though, and some shelter for swimmers down on the south coast. Tides will be high around 11am Wednesday (7.6m) and midday Thursday (6.8m). Low tides will be around 5pm and 6pm respectively.

Friday and The Weekend

Weather

All rather average for late March. The recent gorgeousness might have come to feel like the norm, but it really isn’t. Daily max temps will be about 11°C each day, with a variety of different elements combining in different ways but generally balancing out to produce the same numbers. Friday… cloudy and occasionally rainy, with a force 3-4 W’ly wind. Saturday… super-sunny but with a force 5-6 and gusty NW’ly wind. Sunday… cloudy but dry, with a force 4-5 WNW’ly. Town will generally be the warmest area throughout.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be choppy but rideable throughout. Size-wise we are probably going. to have 4 feet on Friday, 3 feet on Saturday and 2 feet on Sunday. Apart from on Saturday, the wind-strength is uncertain with respect to windsurfing and kitesurfing, but directionally it’s confidently looking as though swimmers will find the smoothest waters on the east coast on Friday, and also on the south coast onSaturday and Sunday. Tides will be low in the mornings and high in the afternoon.

The next forecast update will be on Thursday evening…
