Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 04 April 2026

Saturday

Weather

A murky start, with a couple of misty and drizzly daylight hours at first, with fog being briefly likely at the airport. All good by 9am though, with cloud gradually clearing to leave us with a partially sunny afternoon. That sunshine will feel lovely and warm, as a moderate force 4 S’ly wind brings us heat from France and Biscay. The evening will likely be cloudy again though, and the wind will ramp up to a force 5-6 SW’ly, gradually veering W’ly through the night time. Around midnight, there will likely be a brief spell of rain, but everything should be dry again by dawn Sunday. Max temp around 15°C (with a UV index of 5). Min temp around 9°C.

Surf and the Water

Clean 4 foot surf, and increasingly good windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions as we head towards evening. Tides will be about 9.2m high at 8:50am and 9.1m around 9pm (very splashy on the west coast). Low water will be around 3:10pm.

Easter Sunday and BH Monday

Weather

Easter Sunday will be an improving day, so don’t be in too much of a rush to get out of bed. The morning will be both cloudier and windier than the afternoon. The sunshine only starting to bust through the clouds in the late morning, and the W’ly wind only gradually easing from force 5 at breakfast time to force 4 by lunchtime. After that however, we should have increasingly clear skies, and the wind should have relaxed to light force 3 by dinnertime and then light force 1-2 by midnight. Bank Holiday Monday will get off to a chilly start (around 6°C) but it will soon feel lovely, being the sunniest day of the weekend by a long shot. Basically clear skies all day long, and then equally clear skies when the sun is replaced by the moon and the stars. The ESE’ly winds aren’t looking as strong as previously expected either, just a moderate force 4 (occasionally light force 3) .Therefore, this 16°C this should easily feel like the loveliest day of the long weekend.

Surf and the Water

Sunday’s surf will be best in the late afternoon/early evening, when the onshore wind has relaxed a bit (6 feet and only slightly choppy then). Monday’s surf will be super-clean, 3-4 feet at dawn, decreasing 2-3 feet by dusk. Tides will still be large but they will be on the shrink, with mid-morning highs of 8.9m on Sunday and 8.5m on Monday.

The Rest of Next Week

Weather

4 largely sunny days, with the wind detail really determining the day to day variations in temperature. Tuesday will be the warmest day by current expectations, peaking at 18-19°C, but it will be accompanied by a force 4-5 SE’ly wind, so it might not feel as comfortable as the slightly cooler Wednesday and Friday, which will likely have just a force 2-3 breeze from a broadly N’ly direction. Those days will likely peak around 15°C but feel super-comfortable, especially down on the south coast. You might have noticed that I skipped over Thursday, that’s because that one looks likely to have a force 4-5 N’ly, and therefore feel very different, with temperatures only managing to reach 12-13°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf looks pretty big, around 6+ feet Tuesday and Wednesday, then 4-5 feet Thursday and Friday. With the exception of choppy Thursday, the waves are looking clean as well, with either offshore winds or only light onshores. Tides will be nice and small by the end of the week, with highs reducing from 8m mid-morning Tuesday, to 6.4m lunchtime Friday.

The next forecast update will be most likely be on Monday evening…
