Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 29 April 2026

Wednesday

Weather

The slight chance of a shower around breakfast time. Otherwise we are looking at another day of partial sunshine and fresh to strong ENE’ly winds. The temperature a little higher than on Tuesday though, peaking around 16°C rather than 14°C. Notably milder overnight too, with a min temp of 13°C rather than 10°C.

Surf and the Water

Previous hopes for surfable west-coast waves have been dashed. To be honest, the 2 foot chop at Pembroke is probably the best bet for one or two very short rides. Windsurfing and kitesurfing will be good though, again best on the north coast. Tides will be high around 6am and 6:20pm (roughly 8.4m). Low tide will be at lunchtime.

Thursday

Weather

Some really warm air will have wafted over the Channel, but with a fresh force 5 E’ly wind at breakfast time and a moderate force 4 at lunchtime, it probably won’t be until it falls light in the late afternoon that things really begin to feel toasty. Around 4 or 5 pm, we will probably peak at 21-22°C, making it an excellent day to head down the beach straight after work or school. Likely dry and mostly sunny by day. Slim chance of a shower in the night time.

Surf and the Water

More absolute flatness for surfers. Still some wind for windsurfers and kitesurfers early morning, but then relative calmness and smoothness for swimmers in the late afternoon and evening. Tides will high around 6:30am and 7pm (roughly 8.7m). Low tide will be at lunchtime.

Friday and Saturday

Weather

Lovely light breezes, barely noticeable on either day. Feeling lovely and warm on Friday, when a cloudy morning turns into a sunny afternoon and the temperature peaks around 19°C. Saturday will be similarly calm in terms of wind, but with cloudier skies and the increasing chance of a thundery shower towards late afternoon or evening, it’s likely that the temperature will top out around 17°C. Friday evening definitely looks good for parties and barbecues. Saturday night could be as well, but it’s much less certain, due to that possibility of showers.

Surf and the Water

If there are some rideable 1 foot waves, then at least they will be beautifully clean. Swimming conditions will be lovely both days. Tides will be high at breakfast time and towards dusk (roughly 8.8m), and low around lunchtime.

Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday

Weather

These days are at the very least looking cloudy, but there is also a high likelihood that rain will arrive half-way through Sunday and not depart until half-way through Monday. Rain is much needed though, after an extremely dry April, so whilst it might spoil the second half of the Bank Holiday Weekend, at least it is looking lovely in the first half. Likely max temps of 15°C each day, with a light force 3 N’ly breeze.

Surf and the Water

Absolute flatness for surfers. Smooth swimming conditions on the south coast though. High tides will be around breakfast time and dusk (8.8m Sunday, 8.5m Monday). Low tides will be in the early afternoons.

The next forecast update will most likely be on Saturday…
