Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 29 May 2026

Saturday

Weather

A very similar day to Friday, in terms of partial cloud/sunshine, the slight threat of a shower (from high cloud, so none of them likely to be heavy). The morning’s winds much the same as Friday’s (N’ly light force 3), but the afternoon’s slightly different… NNW’ly backing WNW’ly. Max temps around 19-20°C in Town, 18-19°C everywhere else. Night time temperatures around 14°C, with clear skies brightly lit by the full moon.

Surf and the Water

A 2 foot swell will develop by lunchtime, but the tide won’t really be at a surfable height until mid to late afternoon, and the cross-shore breeze will make it a little choppy. Swimming conditions will be nicest on the south coast overall, but also on the east coast from mid-afternoon onward. High water will be 8.1m at 6:40am and 8.4m at 7pm. Low water will be at 1pm.

Sunday

Weather

A cloudy morning and then an increasingly sunny afternoon. The wind a force 3 (perhaps occasionally force 4) WSW’ly on this occasion, bringing even cooler air than the previous couple of days, which of course were already massively cooler than the half-term heatwave. Max temp 18-19°C in Town, but only 17-18°C everywhere else. Overnight temperature around 14°C again… skies clear to start with, then rather cloudy and possibly rain-bearing by dawn Monday.

Surf and the Water

A 3-4 foot swell that won’t be especially messy because the onshore breeze will only be light. Swimming conditions will be nicest on the east coast. High water will be 8.3m at 7:20am and 8.4m at 7:40pm. Low water will be at 1:40pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Force 3-4 S’ly winds will bring mild air on Monday, allowing us to reach 19-20°C, even under a full day of cloudy skies and occasional rain. Tuesday will then be much sunnier, with the only threat of showers being around breakfast time. The force 4-5 WSW’ly wind will feel a bit chilly though, so the max temperature won’t be any higher than on Monday, and the overnight temperature won’t be much different either.

Surf and the Water

4 foot surf both days, but clean on Monday and choppy on Tuesday. The windsurfing and kitesurfing much better on Tuesday though. The weather generally much better for swimmers on Tuesday too, providing they head for the east coast. Tides will be high around breakfast time and dusk (roughly 8.3m). Low tides will be in the early to mid afternoons.

The Rest of Next Week

Weather

Wednesday, although it’s always uncertain at six days range, looks to be one of the two wettest and windiest day of the week, with force 5 to 6 SSW’ly winds, bringing a full cloudy day and a partially rainy and drizzly day, likely yielding about 3 to 6mm of precipitation. Thursday should then be a bright and breezy day of sunshine and isolated showers (much like Tuesday), and then Friday will most probably be just like Wednesday. Max temps generally around 18°C daily. Min temps around 14°C nightly.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish 4 foot surf on Wednesday. Messy 8-10 foot surf on Thursday (quite something for June), then slightly cleaner 5-6 foot surf on Friday. Tides will be high around mid-morning and shortly after dusk (8.1m shrinking incrementally to 7.7m). Low tides will be in the mid to late afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Sunday or Monday…
