Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 31 May 2026

Monday

Weather

A really pretty nice day compared to previous expectations. The morning being one of high cloud and hazy sunshine, the afternoon cloudier but with rain not expected to arrive until around dinnertime. All the while, the wind will be very gentle, just a force 2-3 SSW’ly in the morning, backing SSE’ly in the afternoon. That evening rain will probably be quite heavy, maybe brining 10-15mm by the end of the night, but hey, we really need some rain right now, and the majority of daylight hours will be just great for outdoor activity. Max temp around 21°C, min temp around 14°C.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 3-4 foot surf, and lovely swimming conditions on all coasts. Tides will be high around 8am and 8:10pm (8.3m and 8.5m respectively). Low tide will be around 2:10pm.

Tuesday to Thursday

Weather

The windiest portion of the week for sure, and at times pretty wet too. Tuesday and Thursday will both be sunshine and showers days so, with those showers being brief and sparsely scattered, the rainfall won’t add up to more than 2 to 4mm. On Wednesday however, we could be looking at 10-15mm, much like on Monday night. Once again however, the majority of that rainfall will likely come towards the end (or perhaps even after) of the working day. As for those brisk winds, it will generally be fresh force 5… WSW’ly on Tuesday and Thursday, SSW’ly on Wednesday. Max temps generally around 18°C, min temps around 15°C.

Surf and the Water

The waves will be 3-4 foot and choppy on Tuesday, then fairly clean on Wednesday. Thursday’s surf will be much bigger at 6-8 feet… quite choppy on the whole but still pretty good for the more experienced surfers. Windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions will be good on all three days. Swimming conditions not so special, except at sheltered eastern spots like Fermain, or up at Pembroke, nice and close to the wall. Tides will be high around breakfast time and dusk, shrinking from 8.4m on Tuesday evening to 7.9m on Friday morning. Low tides will be in the mid-afternoons.

Friday and the Weekend

Weather

Maybe one or two more showers on Friday morning, but we are probably looking at three days of dryness, partial sunshine and decreasing wind… force 3-4 WSW’ly on Friday, then force 2-3 S’ly through the weekend. Afternoon max temps returning to 21 or perhaps 22°C. Overnight min temps dropping to around 12°C.

Surf and the Water

The west-coast waves will generally be clean due to very light winds, regardless of direction. This also means that swimming conditions will be good on all coasts. The surf will be more skewed to experts at first, then beginners later… 5-6 feet on Friday, 4 feet on Saturday, 3 feet on Sunday. Tides will be high in the late mornings, shrinking from 8.4m on Tuesday evening to 7.9m on Friday morning. Low tides will be in the late afternoon on Friday and Saturday, then around dinnertime on Sunday.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday or Thursday…
