Sunday
Weather
Much like Saturday, skies will be mostly cloudy, but with a few slithers of blue sky, allowing the sun to peep through from time to time. Winds will be very light again but from a different direction, this time they will be SW’ly in the morning, favouring the north and west coasts marginally over the south and east. In the afternoon, winds will back to a S’ly and then it won't be until night time that they increase to fresh force 5
Surf and Tide
Waves should be lovely and clean, with the small tides enabling them to be ridden all day. However, at only 1-2 feet, they will be the domain of kids and longboarders. High water will be 6.8m at 1:50pm.
Monday
Weather
As previously forecast rain and drizzle is on the way. However it's not really likely to arrive before dusk. Meaning that daylight hours will have a similar amount of cloud to Sunday and the biggest difference will be the fresh SSW’ly wind. Temperatures will peak at about 11C, so it won't be cold, but that wind might make you want to wear a jacket.
Surf and Tide
Once again, lovely clean waves and very little tidal movement. Low water will be about 3.5m at 8:50am. High water will be 7m at 2:50pm..
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
A string of mostly murky days, as a slow-moving weather front brings low cloud, mist patches and occasional light rain or drizzle. This will all come on an unrelenting moist SW’ly wind. The strength of that wind, mostly moderate force 4 to fresh force 5, but occasionally sprucing up to strong force 6 in exposed areas. Temperatures will be mild and very steady, only varying between 10 and 12C, until we get past midnight Thursday, when a band of heavier rain should clear through and we should see the air cool off to about 8C.
Friday and the Weekend
A ridge of high pressure on Friday and Saturday should bring much brighter and drier conditions, especially on Friday when the airflow is a cool N’ly. On Saturday we should revert to a mild SSW’ly and cloud will gradually thicken up. But hopefully, it won't be until Sunday that we see any more of the wet stuff.
The next forecast update will be on Tuesday evening.
