Saturday
Weather
What a rollercoaster of a fog forecast; Wednesday took the murky message and doubled it, and then Thursday cleared up so dramatically that we even saw some blue sky. Saturday afternoon’s blue sky should be much more plentiful though, with 4 or 5 hours of bright sunshine to enjoy, once the force 5 WSW’ly has blown away the morning's cloud and rain. Max temp 11C.
Surf and Tide
Choppy surf, starting off around 4 feet, picking up to 6 feet later. The tides are getting smaller (as you can probably tell by the stinky seaweed and the flies). High water will be just 7.4m at 10:40am.
Sunday
Weather
And I'm afraid half a day of sunshine is all we are going to be treated to this weekend. Sunday will bring another blast if very mild and moist air. Plenty of mist and drizzly rain no doubt. However, we should hopefully escape without fog at the airport, because the WSW’ly wind will be a strong force 6 and that's usually enough to lift the cloud a few hundred feet off the ground.
Surf and Tide
Choppy surf again, of around 6 feet. Probably a really fun session to be had at lunchtime. High water will be 7m at 11:30am.
Monday and Tuesday
These should be transitional days, from the murk of Sunday to the brilliant sunshine that should bless us from Wednesday onwards. Through Monday and Tuesday, the wind will gradually veer to a strong NW’ly, and the drizzly rain should fragment into isolated showers. Monday’s temperatures should be 11C by day and about 8C by night, the Tuesday’s only reaching 9C by day before falling to 6C overnight.
The Rest of Next Week
Back by popular demand, it's turning cold and clear for a good long stint. Winds will come from the N or NE for the rest of the week and the weekend, bring dry continental air and therefore very little cloud. Temperatures will fall to the low single figures every night, with ground frosts likely in most parts. Luckily, the days are longer now, so we should see a fairly quick recovery of temperatures each morning. However, even in the afternoons, we are only talking about 8C for the daily maxima.
The next forecast update should be with you Sunday evening.
