Monday
Weather
A grey and murky day, with mist and drizzle for the most part, but perhaps also some heavier bursts of rain early morning and late evening. Not feeling very warm either, with a top temp of only 14°C and a moderate to fresh NE’ly wind. If you’re still feeling keen for a summer solstice outing somewhere, then the south-coast cliff paths will definitely be the nicest place to go.
Surf and the Water
Side-shore 2-3 foot surf on the west coast, but maybe (at a push) some clean 1-2 foot fun at the likes of Petit Port and Petit Bot. The south coast will also have some lovely smooth water for swimming. Medium-sized tides, with low water at 10:20am and high water at 4:20pm..
Tuesday
Weather
Monday’s murk should clear off around lunchtime, but it will be quite a few more hours before the clouds thin out enough to let any brightness through. Even then, with the NNE’ly wind staying fresh into the late afternoon, it’s definitely going to feel on the chilly side. Once again, 14°C is pretty much all we can hope for.
Surf and the Water
With very small and very choppy waves on the west coast, I can’t really recommend surfing on this day. However, you keen swimmers will still find some nice smooth water along the south coast, especially at the likes of Saints Bay for the late afternoon high tide (8.4m).
Wednesday to Friday
Weather
With a slightly gentler N’ly and a full day of sunshine, we ought to see temperatures rise to 16°C on Wednesday (head to the south coast for the warmest feelings). Thursday should then creep up to about 17 or 18°C, as the breeze backs to a WNW’ly direction, meaning that Town and the east coast should feel particularly nice. As for Friday, that’s a very uncertain one, but it looks likely to be a cloudy and showery one, so we might see the temperature slipping away again. Nothing too dramatic though, even in the worst case scenario it doesn’t look likely to be half as wet as some of the days we’ve had in this past week.
Surf and the Water
Three days of near flat surf. There’s just the smallest chance of some dribbly 1-foot waves at Vazon, which might just about be enough for very young learners. As for the swimming and paddle-boarding etc, the south and east coasts will be best, with low tides around lunchtime and high tides around breakfast and dinner time (spring tides, with the biggest high being 9.3m at 8pm on Friday..
The Weekend
Weather
We are most likely looking at two dry days, with plenty of sunshine but also a moderate NE’ly wind. Therefore, daily max temperatures might manage to hit the lovely 19 figure, but they probably won’t make it into the 20 club.
Surf and the Water
Just a small chance of some slightly bigger and cleaner surf on the west coast (maybe 2 feet). The spring tides continuing, with highs around breakfast time and dusk (all of them over than 9m).
The next forecast update will be on Tuesday evening…
