Monday
Weather
Some cloudy spells, mainly early and late but plenty of brightness or sunshine in between. The max daytime temperature will be around 13°C and the overnight min will be about 7°C. Winds will be moderate force 4 SE’ly for the most part, so the west coast will generally be the warmest and most comfortable area.
Surf and the Water
The west coast surf should be 2 feet and really clean, but there’s just a slim chance of the odd 3 footer if you’re lucky. Big tides though, with a high of roughly 9.3m at 7:56am (accounting for the effect of the high atmospheric pressure) and a low of roughly 0.7m at 2:19pm.
Tuesday to Wednesday
Weather
Barely a cloud in the sky for the entire 48hrs. Winds will be E’ly, moderate force 4 on Tuesday and light force 3 on Wednesday. As for the temperature, no change there, that’s going to carry on bouncing between daily maxima of roughly 13°C and nightly minima of roughly 7°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be really clean again; 2-3 feet on Tuesday morning, picking up to 4 feet by dusk and likely staying that size through Wednesday. The swimming conditions will be best out west too, and they will be loveliest in the early mornings, when the tide is close to the shelter of the sea-wall. Tuesday’s high tide will be just as big as Monday’s, then Wednesday’s will be about a foot lower.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
This very beautiful but rather uneventful weather is set to continue. There are some suggestions cloudy interludes through these two days, but certainly no rain, so sunshine and E’ly breezes will remain the dominant features. Max temps should climb a little higher though, likely reaching 14°C on both days.
Surf and the Water
The west coast surf will be very slightly choppier and it will also be on the shrink… 2-3 feet on Thursday then 1-2 feet on Friday. Swimmers might find some nice smooth water along the south coast as well as the west, with Petit Port really being the best beach for that. As for the tides; Thursday’s high will be roughly 7.8m at 10:25am and Friday’s will be roughly 7.1m at 11:20am.
The Weekend
Weather
Yet more sunshine, E’ly breezes and rising temperatures on Saturday (15°C the most likely max on that day). Then Sunday will still be early spring, but it will nonetheless be the official start of British Summer Time, on account of the clock-change (don’t forget). The only changes in the weather, look likely to be a wind-shift to a SE’ly and a steady clouding over of the skies. It will be a relatively warm breeze though, so we might even sneak up to 16°C on that day.
Surf and the Water
Very small tides, with just the hint of a high at lunchtime on Saturday, then jumping right ahead to the mid-afternoon on Sunday (due to the clock-change). As for the surf, that should be lovely and clean again, probably 1-2 feet on Saturday picking up to 2-3 feet on Sunday.
The next forecast update will be on Tuesday or Wednesday…
