Saturday
Weather
A beautiful sunny morning. Rather chilly at first, after the coolest night of the week, but rapidly heating up as a bulge of warm air pushes up from Spain. With that warm air, thunderstorms will kick off in France through the afternoon and we will probably see their arrival in the early evening. By the time they have come this far north, they might slide right over the top of us or they might slide a little to the east or the west. Furthermore, they might have lost their thundery component and simply be heavy showers. It’s always a bit uncertain but it’s very unlikely that we will still be dry by the end of the day, and there’s certainly a high chance that lightning-lovers will be treated to a light-show. (Max daytime temp 18-19°C, min temp overnight 12-13°C).
Surf and the Water
Clean 2 foot surf on the west coast. Lovely swimming and paddle-boarding conditions on all coasts, but especially the south. The tidal range is getting bigger, with low-water at lunchtime, and high-water at roughly 6am and 6pm.
Sunday
Weather
Apart from the high likelihood of some mist patches in the morning (and a change of wind from a moderate NE’ly to a light E’ly), we are generally looking at a repeat performance of Saturday… plenty of sunshine, gradually clouding up late afternoon, with the chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Whilst all that’s happening, warm air will continue to pump northwards, giving us a most likely max temp of 21°C and an overnight minimum of 13-14°C.
Surf and the Water
Clean 1-2 foot surf on the west coast. Lovely swimming and paddle-boarding conditions on all coasts, but especially the west and the north. The tidal range is getting bigger, with low-water at lunchtime, and high-water at roughly 7am and 7pm.
Next Week
Weather
The most certain element of the forecast is the temperature… with a light and generally S’ly airflow every day until at least early Thursday, we can expect to reach 20°C or higher every day (Tuesday being the warmest with a likely top temp of 23°C). Most days will be partly, if not mostly, sunny. But there will be some wandering mist patches and there will be further thunderstorms brewing over France and wandering northwards, so this means plenty more opportunities to capture some significant rainfall. The timings are very uncertain at this stage, but in these types of situation, the highest chance of a thorough soaking is nearly always during the evening or later in the night.
Surf and the Water
Clean surf all week, with the tiddliest most beginner/child friendly waves on Monday (2 feet). Tuesday to Friday will all be over 3 feet, with the biggest day being Wednesday (a solid 6 feet or more). Great conditions for swimming and paddle-boarding too, mainly on the north and west coasts until early Thursday, mainly on the south coasts late Thursday and Friday
The next forecast update will be on Sunday evening…
