Sunday and Monday
Weather
If you thought Saturday was a little on the cool side, despite the copious sunshine, then you weren’t mistaken, and likewise these two days are only expected to reach a 15°C max. That said the winds will be lighter… Sunday’s winds will be a force 2-3 E’ly in the morning, then NE’ly in the afternoon. Monday’s winds will be so light and variable that you will barely feel them. So both days should feel very pleasant and comfortable. However, on the flip side, there will be the potential for some large bubbly clouds to develop, and the lack of wind will mean that they could hang around and cast a rather persistent shadow over your area, possibly even going on to produce a shower or two.
Surf and the Water
Sunday should be some rideable 1-foot waves for kids and longboarders around dawn (and maybe when the tide pushes in through the afternoon). Otherwise, it’s just a day for swimming, paddling and jumping off the rocks, especially down on the south coast in the afternoon. Monday will be pretty much the same as Sunday, but the surf might be about half a foot bigger. High water on Sunday will be roughly 8.5m around 6:40am and around 7pm. Then on Monday it will be about 8.6m at roughly 7:20am and 7:30pm.
Tuesday and Wednesday
Weather
With high pressure centred very close to the Channel for the majority of this time, the wind will remain extremely light and variable in direction. For the vast majority of the time, this will simply mean that the copious sunshine feels warm and comfortable, even though the temperature still won’t be too impressive (peaking at just 16°C on Tuesday and 17°C on Wednesday).
Surf and the Water
The surf will probably be flat, but if there is a rideable ripple for kiddies on the pushing tides, then it will at least be super-clean. The main events will definitely be the smooth-water activities though, such as swimming and paddle-boarding, with all coasts being equally lovely. High water on Tuesday will be roughly 8.6m around 8am and around 8pm. Then on Wednesday it will be about 8.5m at roughly 8:30am and 8:40pm.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
These two days will both be cloudier, with occasional showers drifting across the area. Not all of them will hit the islands but a few of them will and they are likely to be quite heavy, so we could actually receive some meaningful rainfall, which will be much appreciated by the gardens and fields. Temperatures will be on the rise as well, because the moderate to fresh NE’ly wind will be drawing in warm air from Central Europe. Max temps should be between 17 and 18 degrees each day. However, because there will be a bit of strength in that wind, it will be a good idea to head to the south coast to find a bit of shelter.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be flat for sure, that is unless Friday afternoon’s/evening’s winds are strong enough to whip up something rideable at Pembroke. Unfortunately the swimming and paddle-boarding won’t be quite so great due to the strengthening wind. Definitely best to get in early Thursday for the lightest winds, or to head to the south-coast at high tide for the best shelter. Those high tides… roughly 8.3m around 9am and around 9:10pm on Thursday. Then on Friday they will be about 8m at roughly 9:30am and 9:40pm.
The next forecast update will be on Monday evening…
