Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 27 June 2022

Monday

Weather

A rather cloudy and showery morning, with force 4 WSW’ly winds. Then in the afternoon, the showers will quickly die out, the winds will drop off to light force 3 and the sunshine should blaze right through until dusk. Max temps just 18°C in most places but easily reaching 19 or perhaps 20°C in Town.

Surf and the Water

3 foot surf on the west coast, both cleanest and strongest in the morning. As for the swimming, that’s generally going to be best along the north and east coasts. High tides will be about 7.9m at 6:14am and 8.1m at 6:31pm. Low tide will be at lunchtime.

Tuesday

Weather

This will be one of the warmest days of the working week, with force 4 S’ly breezes bringing dry weather and hazy sunshine. The temperature should easily reach 20°C in most parts of the island, possibly even 21°C in central parts. Skies will become cloudy towards dusk though, coming ahead of a weather-front, which will give our grateful gardens about 2mm of rain and drizzle to drink.

Surf and the Water

Definitely the cleanest surf of the week, but also the smallest I’m afraid… only 2 feet at best, but still fun for very small people or for very large boards. The west and north coasts will be best for swimming. High tides will be about 8m at 6:56am and 8.3m at 7:10pm. Low tide will be at lunchtime.

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

A steady improvement through the back end of the working week, going from a sunshine-and-showers day on Wednesday, albeit with comfortably light SSW’ly breezes (max temp 18-19°C). Thursday actually a degree or so cooler, but dry as a bone, with super sunny skies and outstanding visibility (moderate WSW’ly breezes). Friday then hanging on to the fabulous sunshine but losing the wind, allowing temperatures to bounce back and probably hit the magic 20°C.

Surf and the Water

A pulse of really solid swell will come on Wednesday and then only diminish slowly through Thursday and Friday… 5-6 feet on Wednesday, 4-5 feet on Thursday and 2-3 feet on Friday. All three days will be messy at times and clean at other times, because the wind will shift between S’ly and W’ly. The timing of these shits is uncertain right now, so you will have to keep a sharp eye on it, in order to score the best sessions. Medium-large tides, with highs of between 8.2 and 8.5m, roughly around breakfast time and lows towards dusk.

The Weekend

Weather

High pressure over southern Britain will bring super sunny skies and NE’ly breezes… very light on Saturday but potentially a little stronger on Sunday. Temperatures will be warmer than during the working week, peaking at around 22°C in the afternoons and falling to around 14 or 15°C overnight and around dawn.

Surf and the Water

We will probably maintain a weak but reasonably clean 2 foot swell. Fantastic conditions for swimming, coasteering, kayaking and paddle-boarding too. Most coasts nice and smooth but the south coast best of all. Tides will be high in the mid-mornings (roughly 8m) and low in the mid-afternoons.

The next forecast update will be on Thursday morning…
