Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 06 August 2022

Saturday

Weather

Pure sunshine, but with a relatively cool NE’ly breeze (moderate force 4, gradually decreasing light force 3). This will give us a max temp of 21°C in most places, but probably 22°C along the south coast.

Surf and the Water

Maybe 1-2 feet of very weak surf in the morning, perhaps suitable for kids but unlikely to satisfy adults. However, the swimming conditions will be lovely and smooth if you head down to one of the south coast beaches, The tide will be high at lunchtime (roughly 7.2m at 1:08pm), so you will have to hit it early or late if you want some sand to sit on, but if you like to sit on the rocks and swim straight into deep water then the warmest part of the day will be good for you.

Sunday

Weather

Same story of wall-to-wall sunshine, with a moderate NE’ly breeze. Temperatures should climb a degree higher though, so that’s a max of 22°C in most places, but probably 23°C along the south coast.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf but lovely smooth water on the south coast again. High water will be about 7.1m at 2:24pm. Low tides will be around breakfast time and dusk.

Monday to Wednesday

Weather

I’m afraid this is a rather repetitive forecast this time, given that there will be barely any cloud and certainly no rain, just loads of sunshine and a persistent NE’ly breeze (mostly moderate force 4, occasionally light force 3). This consistent feed of air from eastern Europe will lead to a steady heating… max temperatures rising by about a degree per day, such that Wednesday peaks at around 26°C in most places, but probably climbs right up to 27°C along the south coast.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf but lovely smooth water on the south coast again. Low water will shift from late mornings Monday and Tuesday to lunchtime on Wednesday. High water will shift from late afternoons Monday and Tuesday to dinner time on Wednesday

Thursday and Friday

Weather

No change in the story of dry weather, sunshine and NE’ly breezes. The temperature continuing to rise, such that we could see such lofty figures as 28-29 or maybe even 30°C in the warmest southern areas on Friday.

Surf and the Water

Flat surf but lovely smooth water on the south coast again. High tides will be around lunchtime, low tides around breakfast time and in the evenings.

The next forecast update will be on Sunday evening or Monday morning…
