Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 25 November 2022

Saturday

Weather

Although rather cloudy, it should stay nice and dry until at least mid-afternoon, possibly until sunset, so we are looking at another relatively good day compared to the recent roughness. That said, the S’ly wind will still be rather brisk, blowing force 4 in the morning, picking up to force 5 by the afternoon, and then reaching force 6 in the evening when the rain sets in good and proper. Max daytime temp 13-14°C, min temp overnight 11-12°C.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean 6 foot waves in the morning, dropping off to 4 or 5 feet by the end of the day. Some really classic surf conditions on the west coast, but with the tides still massive (9.4m high around 7:45am, then 1.4m low around 2:15pm), so it will be a bit tricky to find the perfect conditions and to maintain them for more than half an hour or so. As for the smoothest swimming conditions, the north coast will be best for that.

Sunday

Weather

On the negative side, it will be cloudy all day, with patchy rain and drizzle, mainly in the morning. However, on the positive side, the wind will be light, just a force 3 WSW’ly, so it will feel relatively comfortable when you’re out and about. Once again, we are looking at a mild max 13-14°C, a little cooler overnight though, with a min of 9-10°C.

Surf and the Water

Another good day of surf, with waves around 5-6 feet. The wind won’t be offshore anymore, but it will be so light that the waves won’t be much messier than on Saturday. High tide will be 9.2m around 8:30am and low tide will be 1.7m around 3pm.

Monday and Tuesday

Weather

Sunny spells both days, with a few showers likely on Monday (especially in the morning), then totally dry on Tuesday. Best of all, relative to most of November so far, it’s going to be blissfully calm, with just a light force 3 NW’ly on Monday, dropping off to just force 1 to 2 on Tuesday. Temperatures will be on a bit of a downward slide though, nothing too serious, just 12-13°C for the max on Monday, then 11-12°C for the max on Tuesday. It will probably be the night time, when the drop is most noticeable, because we could get down as low as 6°C if skies are mostly clear, maybe even with some grass frost in places.

Surf and the Water

Another major pulse of swell, with 10 foot waves on Monday, dropping off to a still-respectable 6 feet on Tuesday. The waves should be pretty clean both days because the onshore winds will be so light. Tides will be high mid-morning (8.8m Monday, 8.3m Tuesday). Low tides will be in the late afternoons (2.1m Monday, 2.6m Tuesday).

The Rest of Next Week

Weather

Winds will establish an ENE’ly direction. Force 3-4 Wednesday and Thursday, freshening up to force 5 on Friday. Skies will be mostly cloudy but with a few sunny intervals and probably the odd light shower at times. Temperatures will be a bit of a flat line. Peaking 10-11°C each day and just falling to around 9°C each night.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish 4 foot surf on the west coast each day, with the tides reducing in size, meaning that there should generally be more options throughout daylight hours. The west coast will also be the best place to find smooth and sheltered swimming conditions too. High tides will be around lunchtime… 7.9m Wednesday and 7.6m Thursday and Friday.

The next forecast update will be on Monday morning…
