Guernsey Weather Fox

Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 12 June 2023

Tuesday

Weather

Some early morning mist and fog is likely, but it should burn away much quicker than on Monday. Not so quick for Jersey though, so bear that in mind if you are planning to fly there or expecting someone to fly back. The late morning should then be a mix of cloud and sunshine in Guernsey, and the afternoon should be dazzling. Winds will be light force 2 NW’ly for the most part, so it will feel comfortable everywhere but nicest of all around Town and along the south coast. Most areas will peak around 20°C, but those warmer spots should climb right up to 22°C.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be flat, but the swimming conditions will be just as silky as recent days. The tide will be low at 9:38am and high at 3:41pm (7.7m).

Wednesday to Friday

Weather

3 days of sunshine, although there is the slimmest chance of some coastal mist on Wednesday morning, and there will be some high cloud on all three days, which will turn the sunshine rather soft and hazy. Winds will be very light N’ly so the daily max temps of roughly 21°C should feel lovely, most especially down on south-coast beaches and cliff-paths.

Surf and the Water

The surf looks set to stay near-flat until sometime on Thursday, when we should pick up a 1-2 foot groundswell for the pleasure of young learners and longboarders. Although winds will be N’ly, they will be very light, so those west-coast waves will be clean and the swimming conditions should be lovely and smooth all around the island. Low tides will shuffle forward from mid-morning on Wednesday to lunchtime on Friday. High tides will shuffle forward from mid-afternoon on Tuesday (7.9m) to dinnertime on Friday (8.4m).

The Weekend

Weather

The wind will stay light… NE’ly on Saturday, veering ESE’ly on Sunday. This will bring a daily increase in temperatures, such that we could peak as high as 23°C on Sunday. It won’t all be sunshine though, because we will have quite a lot of cloud developing around 10000 feet. This is the kind of cloud that could produce some thunderstorms, but the showers will struggle to reach the ground without evaporating. We probably will catch the odd splash at times, hopefully giving our gardens and fields a much needed drink, but likely too sparse and too brief to spoil any outdoor events.

Surf and the Water

The surf should stay clean and it will probably pick up to a healthy 2-3 feet. Swimming conditions should be reasonable good in all parts, but the west coast will certainly host the smoothest water. Tides will remain low at lunchtime, and they will be high at breakfast time and dinnertime (gradually increasing from 8.3m on Saturday morning to 8.6m on Sunday evening.

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday or Thursday…
