Thursday
Weather
Sunny, with a light force 2 to 3 NNE’ly breeze. Everywhere feeling gorgeous… Town and the south coast probably getting up to 23°C, whilst most other places peak at 22°C. The temperature overnight falling to about 14°C under similarly cloudless skies.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be about 1 foot and clean, hopefully with the odd 2-footer sneaking through in the evening. As for the swimming conditions, they will be just as silky as recent days, especially down on the south coast. The tide will be low at 11:30am and high at 5:30pm (8.2m).
Friday
Weather
Another incredibly sunny day, with very light NNE’ly breezes. The only cloud being a little high cloud that turns the sunshine rather hazy but doesn’t have any impact on the temperature. As such, the max temperature will be just the same as on Thursday… ranging between 21 and 23°C around the island.
Surf and the Water
Clean 1-2 foot surf all being well, with more silky smooth swimming conditions all around the island. The tide will be low at 12:20pm and the highs will be at 6am (8.2m) and at 6:20pm (8.4m).
The Weekend
Weather
No more naked skies. Nope, lots of cloud both days, most of it quite high in the sky though, meaning that it will mostly be white rather than grey and there should be plenty of shafts of sunshine sneaking through the gaps. The air will feel very warm and humid, so it will often feel as though a thundery shower is just about to break out. However, they will probably turn out to be very few and far between on Saturday (mainly around breakfast time and then again overnight). The greatest chance of a thundery downpour will be through Sunday afternoon and evening. Both days should have max temps of 22-23°C, with a light force 2 to 3 E’ly breeze.
Surf and the Water
The surf should stay clean and it will probably pick up to a healthy 2-3 feet. Swimming conditions should be reasonable good in all parts, but the west coast will certainly host the smoothest water. Tides will remain low at lunchtime, and they will be high at breakfast time and dinnertime (gradually increasing from 8.3m on Saturday morning to 8.6m on Sunday evening.
Next Week
Weather
The vast majority of the time will be dry, warm and sunny. However, there will be thundery showers over the UK and France, and with the gentle breeze changing direction quite erratically from day to day, some of those showers might possibly wander in a Guernsey direction. Temperatures will probably continue to peak in the low twenties each day.
Surf and the Water
Winds will be light enough for the swimming conditions to be nice and smooth each day. As for the surf, we will probably hang on to some weak 1-2 foot swell through Monday and perhaps Tuesday, but I’m afraid it’s looking flat for the next couple of days at least (just the slim chance of some decent swell turning up on Friday). Tides will be low in the afternoons and high in the mornings and around dusk (8.7m at the start of the week, gradually shrinking to 7.7m by the end of the week).
The next forecast update will be on Sunday evening…
