Sunday
Weather
A cloudy and probably showery morning, most likely followed by a dry and bright afternoon. The max temp will be about 20-21°C, so that’s a bit lower than on Saturday but it should still feel pleasant, because the S’ly wind will decrease through the day… force 3-4 in the morning, then force 2-3 in the afternoon.
Surf and the Water
The 3-5 foot waves that finally arrived late Saturday will rapidly diminish through the morning, leaving us with only 2 foot waves in the afternoon and evening. Swimming conditions will be best on the north and west coasts through most of the day, then pretty much everywhere in the evening. Low water will be at 6am and 6:20pm. High water will be about 8.3m at midday.
Monday
Weather
Dry, with long spells of sunshine and just a gentle S’ly breeze. This will all result in a max of 21-22°C, which will feel lovely in all parts but most especially in the north of the Island.
Surf and the Water
Clean 1-2 foot surf, possibly picking up to 2-3 feet by the end of the day. Swimming conditions will be best on the north and west coasts. Low water will be around breakfast time and dinner time. High water will be about 7.9m at 12:50pm.
Tuesday
Weather
Of the week days, this is looking like both the wettest and the windiest. The rain all coming in the morning, probably just the first half of the morning, but the fresh force 5 WSW’ly blowing all day long. During the afternoon, sunshine should gradually start to dominate, but most parts of the Island won’t exceed 19°C. Only Town is likely to creep up to between 20°C and 21°C
Surf and the Water
3-4 foot surf, slightly choppier than the previous days. Good conditions for windsurfing and kite-surfing along the west and north coasts, whilst the swimming conditions will be best along the east coast. Low water will be at 7:50am and 8:15pm. High water will be about 7.5m at 1:50pm.
Wednesday to Friday
Weather
Wednesday and Thursday look like the sunniest days of the week, but the air will still be relatively cool, due to the moderate WSW’ly wind. There is an outside chance that the odd shower will catch the Island as it drifts up the Channel, but we are far more likely to stay dry on those two days. Friday however, will have much more in the way of showers, but that will be balanced by a slightly milder SSW’ly wind. All this give-and-take will result in daily max temperatures that are pretty much bang on average… ranging between 19°C in the coolest parts of the Island and 21°C in the warmest (usually Town).
Surf and the Water
The surf should still be 3-4 feet on Wednesday, then it will likely drop off to 1-2 feet through Thursday and Friday winds will generally be a little light for windsurfing, maybe ok for kite-surfing though. Swimming conditions will generally be best on the east coast, but the north and west coasts will also offer some smoothness around the times of high water. Those tides will generally be on the small side (around 7.3 high in the mid to late afternoons).
The next forecast update will be on Wednesday morning…
