Monday to Wednesday
Weather
Cloud will come and go (mainly in the mornings), but the wind will be so light and breathless that the cloudy spells will feel pleasant and the sunny periods will become very warm (max temps will vary between 22°C and 24°C from one spot to another). Overnight temperatures will generally be in the mid-high teens, but with so little wind it will be easy to sleep with the windows wide open. If there’s going to be any rain at all then it will just be a shower or two late Tuesday night or sometime on Wednesday night. These will be residual French thunderstorms, so there is the chance of a heavy downpour, but it’s far more likely to be just a spit and a spot, whilst the bulk of the activity moves by on the horizon.
Surf and the Water
Beautifully smooth conditions all around the Island for swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Just pick your spot according to the tide. As for the surf, the run of glassy conditions continues, with 3 foot sets on Monday, 2 foot on Tuesday and 1 foot on Wednesday. High water will be in the late mornings (8.3m, 8m and 7.7m respectively), low water will be in the late afternoons.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
Force 2-4 NW’ly breezes will bring a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine… the best of the sunshine probably coming in the afternoon, lifting the temperature to a max of 21 or 22°C in most places, but 23°C in Town. Thursday morning might well see some showers, but the strongest signal is currently for Thursday evening, when a heavy and perhaps thundery downpour is looking likely. Friday looks set to stay dry (and probably much more sunny).
Surf and the Water
No surf I’m afraid, but the swimming conditions will remain good, especially on the south and east coasts. High water will be around lunchtime (7.4m and 7m respectively) and low water will be around dawn and dinner time.
The Weekend
Weather
Carrying on like Friday, the force 3-4 NW’ly breeze will bring mostly sunny skies, just a few puffs of fair weather cloud developing over the island through the morning, then gradually dissipating in the afternoon. The east and south coasts will feel warmest, thanks to their shelter from the breeze, max temperatures should be 23°C in some places there (mainly Town), 21-22°C should be the top temperature across the rest of the Island.
Surf and the Water
Still no surf I’m afraid, but the swimming conditions will remain good on the south and east coasts. High water will be in the mid-afternoons (6.9m and 7.2m respectively) and low water will be in the mid-mornings and shortly after dusk.
The next forecast update will be on Tuesday evening…
