Wednesday and Thursday
Weather
Light E’ly force 3 breezes will bring sunny skies through Thursday morning, allowing temperatures to creep up to a toasty max of 24°C. By evening however, the wind will have backed to a moderate force 4 NE’ly and skies will have turned cloudy, with a pretty high chance of thundery showers. That situation will continue through much of the night, whilst temperatures remain uncomfortably high (minimums of between 16 and 18°C depending on your precise location). Thursday will likely have some more heavy showers in the morning and possibly also in the evening, but the middle part of the day will most likely be dry and sunny, whilst the force 3-4 winds back from a NE’ly direction to a NW’ly. Thursday’s max temperature not quite so toasty but still a very respectable 22°C (feeling especially pleasant down on the south coast).
Surf and the Water
The surf will be 1-2 feet and clean in the morning, but near flat by the end of the day and staying that way through Thursday. Swimming conditions will be best on the south coast, closely followed by the west coast around high tide… 11:10am (7.7m) on Wednesday and 11:50am (7.4m) on Thursday. Low water will be around 5:20pm. Low water will be around dinner time.
Friday and the Weekend
Weather
Friday is looking dry and mostly sunny by day, but showers will develop overnight and likely linger into the first half of Saturday morning. The majority of Saturday should be dry and sunny though, so make the most of that day, because Sunday is currently looking very uncertain. Some forecast models are staying dry and sunny through Sunday, whilst others are favouring cloudy skies and showers. Either way, the wind will be NW’ly (force 3-4) through all three of these days, meaning that the south and east coasts will always feel warmest. Daily max temps will range between 19-21°C, depending on your precise location.
Surf and the Water
Flat surf but lovely swimming conditions on the south and east coasts. Tidal movements will be small, with lows around breakfast time and highs in the afternoons.
Next Week
Weather
Monday though until Wednesday will have a moderate NW’ly airflow, bringing a mixture of cloudy skies and sunny spells, with a few brief showers and perhaps one or two longer spells of rain. Temperatures should peak around 19-21°C on those days. Thursday and Friday should then be dry and sunny, with very light W’ly breezes, allowing temperatures to peak around 21-23°C.
Surf and the Water
Tidal movements will start off small but they will be very large by the end of the week. Highs will be in the early mornings and in the evenings. Lows will be around lunchtime. No surf likely through the the majority of the week, but there’s a good chance of clean rideable waves by Friday. Swimming conditions will be best on the south and east coasts through the majority of the week, but they should be good on all coasts by Friday.
The next forecast update will be on Friday…
