Saturday
Weather
Sunny and unseasonably warm, with max temps of around 22°C. The breeze will be a force 3 SSW’ly in the morning, then a force 2 SSE’ly in the afternoon, light enough to barely be noticeable.
Surf and the Water
Super-clean 4 foot surf on the west coast, and smooth water for swimming all around the Island. High tide will be just after midday (just a miniscule 6.5m), low tides will be shortly before dawn and shortly after dusk. Overnight min temp… 14-15°C.
Sunday
Weather
Another sunny scorcher, even more so actually, with a top temp of 23-24°C on this occasion. Once again the winds will be so light that they are barely noticeable, but the main direction will be SE’ly (hence the heat). Overnight min temp… 14-15°C again.
Surf and the Water
Once again, super-clean 4 foot surf on the west coast, and smooth water for swimming all around the Island. Low tide will be around 8am and high tide will be around 2:30pm (just a miniscule 6.2m).
Monday and Tuesday
Weather
Both days will be a bit cloudier than the weekend, and some of that cloud could be low enough to turn things misty at times. That said, it will still be toasty on Monday, with a max of 21-22°C. Then likely just 20-21°C on Tuesday, due to a gradual increase in the SW’ly wind… force 1-2 through Monday, then force 3 through most of Tuesday, possibly nudging up to moderate force 4 by dusk.
Surf and the Water
The surf will stay clean but it will reduce in size to 3 feet on Monday and 2 feet on Tuesday. Swimming conditions still fabulous on all coasts for most of the time, but more restricted to the east coast by Tuesday evening. Low tides in the late mornings, high tides in the late afternoons (still tiddlers, just 6.6m and 7.2m respectively)
The Rest of Next Week
Weather
Moderate (perhaps occasionally fresh) WSW’ly winds, along with cloudy skies, will give a very different feel to Wednesday, especially in the evening, when all that will be accompanied by some patchy rain. Thursday and Friday are also looking cloudy with occasional rain (some of it quite heavy), but the wind should ease to a force 3 SSW’ly, probably making things feel more comfortable than on Wednesday. Daily max temps should be around 18-19°C.
Surf and the Water
Weak, sloppy, choppy surf on Wednesday, becoming cleaner and likely a bit stronger through Thursday and Friday. Likewise there should also be a general improvement in the swimming conditions. High tides will be shortly before dawn and then again around dusk (gradually increasing from 7.6m to 8.8m. Low tides will be around lunchtime.
The next forecast update will be on Monday morning…
